Dynamic Optical Fiber Sensing With Brillouin Optical Time Domain Reflectometry: Application to Pipeline Vibration Monitoring
TL;DR: In this article, the optical local oscillator frequency is adjusted to measure Brillouin backscattered power at the maximum slope of the gain spectrum along the fiber length, which can be detected by amplitude variation.

Slope-assisted BOTDR for pipeline vibration measurements
Damien Maraval,Renaud Gabet,Yves Jaouën,Vincent Lamour +3 more
- 23 Apr 2017
TL;DR: In this paper, a dynamic slope-assisted (SA-BOTDR) sensor for single-ended truly distributed optical fiber measurement is presented, achieving a 7.6 Hz acquisition rate with a strain error of 40 μe and a 1m spatial resolution.

- 24 Sep 2018
TL;DR: In this paper, the results of distributed acoustic measurements on optical fibers for the prevention and the detection of anomalies along the railway infrastructures are presented for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM).
