Population structure, behavior, and distribution pattern of the river lapwing Vanellus duvaucelii (Lesson, 1826)
TL;DR: The present study clearly indicates that the river bank was the most preferred habitat type and that the distribution pattern was found to be clumped in river lapwings.

Foraging behavior in river lapwing, Vanellus duvaucelii (Lesson, 1826) (Charadriiformes: Charadriidae): Differences in technique, prey, and habitat
TL;DR: In this article, a total of 415 individuals of river lapwing were counted in four habitats namely open, unvegetated river bank, vegetated river board, river island and crop field, whereas foraging behavior was observed by focal observation.

Community Composition and Threats Status of Ornithofauna of Bakhira Bird Sanctuary: A Wetland Ecosystem
TL;DR: In this article, the authors have evaluated community composition and threat status of avifauna of Bakhira Bird Sanctuary in order to delineate the importance of regional or local landscapes for avian conservation.
Factors influencing nesting success of the river lapwing, Vanellus duvaucelii (Lesson, 1826):
TL;DR: In all years, river lapwing nests on open, unvegetated river banks achieved significantly greater nesting success than those in crop fields, however, nest failure was mainly due to predation and farming activity, and trampling by domestic cattles and human disturbance were reported as other notable factors influencing nest failure.
Dynamics of habitat use by the river lapwing Vanellus duvaucelii (Lesson, 1826)
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors employed the line transect method to quantify the density of river lapwing concerning vegetation height, water depth and soil penetrability in India and Southeast Asia.
