Towards Depth-resolved Fluorescence-guided Surgery Using Multi-spectral Near-infrared Light
Frederic Leblond,Zaven Ovanesyan,Scott C. Davis,Venkataramanan Krishnaswamy,Pablo A. Valdés,Anthony Kim,Brian C. Wilson,Alex Hartov,Brian W. Pogue,Keith D. Paulsen,David W. Roberts +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, an analytic expression of fluorescence ratio detection can provide a direct estimate of depth in multi-spectral sub-surface imaging, which is supported by preliminary fluorescence data acquired with a broad-beam multispectral system.

Automated segmentation based upon remitted scatter spectra from pathologically distinct tumor regions
Pilar Beatriz Garcia-Allende,Venkataramanan Krishnaswamy,Kimberley S. Samkoe,P. Jack Hoopes,Brian W. Pogue,Olga M. Conde,Jose Miguel Lopez-Higuera +6 more
- 24 Feb 2009
TL;DR: In this article, a multi-spectral scatter visualization of tissue ultra-structure in situ can provide a unique tool for guiding surgical re-section, but since changes are subtle and the data is multi-parametric, an automated methodology was sought to interpret these data, in order to classify their tissue sub-type.
1
Video-rate near infrared tomography for imaging thick tissue with dynamically varying absorption properties
Zhiqiu Li,Venkataramanan Krishnaswamy,Keith D. Paulsen,Brian W. Pogue +3 more
- 12 Feb 2009
TL;DR: In this paper, a near-infrared (NIR) tomography system was built to allow for imaging thick tissue at high frame rate using a spectrally encoded source arrangement consisting of eight fiber-coupled, high-resolution, CCD based spectrometers.

Digital Breast Tomosynthesis Guided Near-Infrared Spectral Tomography: Early Clinical Results
Kelly E. Michaelsen,Venkataramanan Krishnaswamy,Steven P. Poplack,Linxi Shi,S. Vendantham,Brian W. Pogue,Keith D. Paulsen +6 more
TL;DR: A cohort of 34 normal, benign and malignant breasts were imaged using a combined NIR tomography and breast tomosynthesis unit with two views and compression levels, recovering region based estimates of hemoglobin, oxygen saturation, water and lipids.
1
Broadband Scatter Spectroscopy Imager for Breast Tumor Margin Delineation
Venkataramanan Krishnaswamy,Ashley M. Laughney,Kimberley S. Samkoe,Wendy A. Wells,Keith D. Paulsen,Brian W. Pogue +5 more
TL;DR: A broadband scanning scatter spectroscopy imaging system has been developed to allow intra-operative assessment of lumpectomy tumor margins based on localized tissue scatter measures, and results from preliminary phantom measurements are discussed.
