Chromosomal and morphological studies of diploid and polyploid cytotypes of Stevia rebaudiana (Bertoni) Bertoni (Eupatorieae, Asteraceae)
Vanessa de Oliveira,Eliana Regina Forni-Martins,Pedro Melillo de Magalhães,Marcos Nopper Alves +3 more
TL;DR: Analysis of variance revealed highly significant differences among the strains, with a positive correlation between the level of ploidy and all of the morphological features examined, including the shortest plants and the lowest number of inflorescences.
Flaxseed oil rich in omega-3 protects aorta against inflammation and endoplasmic reticulum stress partially mediated by GPR120 receptor in obese, diabetic and dyslipidemic mice models
Alexandre Moura-Assis,Milessa Silva Afonso,Vanessa de Oliveira,Joseane Morari,Gustavo A. Santos,Marcia Kiyomi Koike,Ana Maria Lottenberg,Rodrigo Ramos Catharino,Licio A. Velloso,Adelino Sanchez Ramos da Silva,L. P. de Moura,Eduardo R. Ropelle,José Rodrigo Pauli,Dennys E. Cintra +13 more
TL;DR: It is hypothesized that a flaxseed oil-enriched diet (FS) abolishes these inflammatory signaling pathway and restore metabolic homeostasis by activating the fatty acid receptor GPR120 in aorta of obese mice.

Cytotaxonomy of species of Vernonia, section Lepidaploa, group Axilliflorae (Asteraceae, Vernonieae)
TL;DR: These results do not provide sufficient evidence for a conclusive cytotaxonomic discussion of Vernonia, mainly because of the impossibility of associating any infrageneric group with specific karyotypic characters, and alsoBecause of the small number of species analysed so far.

Targeting hepatic kisspeptin receptor ameliorates nonalcoholic fatty liver disease in a mouse model
Stephania Guzman,Magdalena Dragan,Hyokjoon Kwon,Vanessa de Oliveira,Shivani Rao,Vrushank Bhatt,Katarzyna Kalemba,Ankit Shah,Vinod K. Rustgi,Heng Wang,Paul Bech,Ali Abbara,Chioma Izzi-Engbeaya,Pinelopi Manousou,Jessie Yanxiang Guo,Grace L. Guo,Sally Radovick,Waljit S. Dhillo,Fredric E. Wondisford,Andy V. Babwah,Moshmi Bhattacharya +20 more
TL;DR: In patients with NAFLD and in high-fat diet–fed mice, hepatic KISS1/KISS1R expression and plasma kisspeptin levels were elevated, suggesting a compensatory mechanism to reduce triglyceride synthesis, and these findings establish KISS 1R as a therapeutic target to treat NASH.

Chromosome Numbers and Karyotypes of Species of Vernonia sect. Lepidaploa (Asteraceae: Vernonieae)
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors explore chromosome number and karyotype variation of eight species treated within different subsections of the section Vernonia sect. Lepidaploa and conclude that the results obtained here did not conclusively support any of the taxonomic proposals for Vernonia due to the absence of distinctive or characteristic Karyotype patterns for any taxonomic groupings.
