Root hydraulic conductance, gas exchange and leaf water potential in seedlings of Pistacia lentiscus L. and Quercus suber L. grown under different fertilization and light regimes
TL;DR: Differences in morphology, biomass allocations and physiological responses were investigated in seedlings of Mastic tree and Cork oak submitted to contrasting fertilization and light regimes during early growth.

Differences in morphology, gas exchange and root hydraulic conductance before planting in Pinus canariensis seedlings growing under different fertilization and light regimes
TL;DR: Fertilization is more important, determining high photosynthetic capacity than high hydraulic conductance rates before planting in Pinus canariensis containerized seedlings, according to the results obtained.

Physiological differences explain the co‐existence of different regeneration strategies in Mediterranean ecosystems
Alberto Vilagrosa,Encarnación I. Hernández,Vanessa C. Luis,Hervé Cochard,Hervé Cochard,Juli G. Pausas +5 more
TL;DR: Seeders and resprouters can be considered two syndromes whose different functional characteristics are related to water availability and drought responses, together with their differences in rooting habits, account for their distinct regeneration niches and, thus, their co-existence.
