Middle aged γ-ray pulsar J1957+5033 in X-rays: pulsations, thermal emission, and nebula
D. Zyuzin,A. V. Karpova,Yuriy A. Shibanov,Alexander Y. Potekhin,Valery Suleimanov,Valery Suleimanov +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors detect X-ray pulsations with the pulsar spin period of the point-like source coinciding by position with a pulsar, and derive the average effective temperature of J1957+5033, which is the coldest known thermally emitting neutron star with ages below 1 Myr.

X-ray spectra and polarization from magnetar candidates
Roberto Taverna,Roberto Taverna,Roberto Turolla,Roberto Turolla,Valery Suleimanov,Valery Suleimanov,Alexander Y. Potekhin,Silvia Zane +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors revisited the problem of assessing the spectro-polarimetric properties of magnetar persistent emission and found that X-ray polarimetry will allow to detect QED vacuum effects for all the emission models and to discriminate among them.
