Cristina Cattaneo,R Di Blasi,Cristina Skert,Anna Candoni,Bruno Martino,N. Di Renzo,Mario Delia,Stelvio Ballanti,Francesco Marchesi,Valentina Mancini,Enrico Orciuolo,Simone Cesaro,Lucia Prezioso,Rosa Fanci,Gianpaolo Nadali,Anna Chierichini,Luca Facchini,Marco Picardi,Michele Malagola,Vincenza Orlando,Enrico Maria Trecarichi,Mario Tumbarello,Franco Aversa,Giorgio Rossi,Livio Pagano,Angela Passi,Doriana Gramegna,Domenico Russo,Davide Lazzarotto,Domenico Rotilio,Maria Rosaria De Paolis,Edoardo Simonetti,Maria Alessandra Innocente,Antonio Spadea,Francesco Mazziotta,Anna Pegoraro,Angelica Spolzino,Gloria Turri,Barbara Veggia +38 more
TL;DR: MDR rectal colonization occurs in 6.5% of haematological inpatients and predicts a 16% probability of MDRrel BSI, particularly during neutropenia, as well as a higher probability of unfavourable outcomes in CR-rel BSIs.
Nelarabine as salvage therapy and bridge to allogeneic stem cell transplant in 118 adult patients with relapsed/refractory T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia/lymphoma. A CAMPUS ALL study
Anna Candoni,Davide Lazzarotto,Felicetto Ferrara,Antonio Curti,Federico Lussana,Cristina Papayannidis,Maria Ilaria Del Principe,Massimiliano Bonifacio,Federico Mosna,Mario Delia,Paola Minetto,Michele Gottardi,Nicola Stefano Fracchiolla,Valentina Mancini,Fabio Forghieri,Patrizia Zappasodi,Marco Cerrano,Antonella Vitale,Ernesta Audisio,Silvia Trappolini,Claudio Romani,Marzia Defina,Silvia Imbergamo,Nadia Ciccone,Lidia Santoro,Benedetta Cambò,Salvatore Iaccarino,Michela Dargenio,Lara Aprile,Sabina Chiaretti,Renato Fanin,Giovanni Pizzolo,Roberto Foa +32 more
TL;DR: Taking into account the poor prognosis of this patient population, nelarabine represents an effective option with an ORR of 50% and a CR rate of 36% and in addition, 40% of cases following nelARabine salvage therapy could undergo SCT with an expected OS at 2 and 5 years of 46% and 38%, respectively.

Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) load and interleukin-10 in EBV-positive and EBV-negative post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders.
Giuliana Muti,Catherine Klersy,Fausto Baldanti,Simonetta Granata,Pierluigi Oreste,Laura Pezzetti,Marta Gatti,Livio Gargantini,Marianna Caramella,Valentina Mancini,Giuseppe Gerna,Enrica Morra +11 more
TL;DR: Results of this study suggest that the usefulness of IL‐10 assay for early diagnosis of PTLD is similar to that of EBV load quantification, and its clinical diagnostic value is lower in EBV‐negative than inEBV‐positive PTLDs.

Emerging resistant bacteria strains in bloodstream infections of acute leukaemia patients: results of a prospective study by the Rete Ematologica Lombarda (Rel)
Chiara Cattaneo,Patrizia Zappasodi,Valentina Mancini,Claudio Annaloro,Francesca Pavesi,Cristina Skert,Andrea Ferrario,Elisabetta Todisco,V. Saccà,Luisa Verga,Angela Passi,M C Da Via,Samantha Ferrari,Gabriella Mometto,Marta Petullà,Annamaria Nosari,Giorgio Rossi +16 more
TL;DR: Although GP still predominate over GN BSI, the percentage of antibiotic resistant GN strains is considerable in acute leukaemia patients and it is associated with poor prognosis.

Bone marrow hypoplasia complicating tacrolimus (FK506) therapy
Annamaria Nosari,Laura Marbello,Luciano De Carlis,Andrea De Gasperi,Giuliana Muti,Valentina Mancini,Enrica Morra +6 more
TL;DR: This patient suffered from progressive anemia, leukopenia with severe neu-tropenia, and mild thrombocytopenia; bone marrow biopsy showed hypoplasia (20% of cellularity) without dysplasia, and recovery of hemoglobin and neutrophil values was slow after tacrolimus suspension, even though in the first month transfusions were no longer necessary.
