TL;DR: It has been found that Krion-6T can provide more than 10(11) C(6+) ions per second at the 100 Hz repetition rate, and the repetition rate can be increased at the same or larger ion output per second, which makes ESIS applicable at cyclotrons as well.

TL;DR: A short description of EBIS apparatus in the reflex mode of operation, resulting in electron string formation, and recent experimental results are presented in this paper, where a long tail to high energy was observed and about 30% half width was confirmed by means of spectrometry using the radiative recombination of Ar17+.

Production and ion-ion cooling of highly charged ions in electron string ion source.
TL;DR: The scheme of an internal injection of Au atoms into the working space of the "Krion-2" electron string ion source (ESIS) was applied and tested and methods to increase the ESIS ion output are discussed.
