Polarized photoreflectance and photoluminescence spectroscopy of InGaAs/GaAs quantum rods grown with As2 and As4 sources
R. Nedzinskas,Bronislovas Čechavičius,J. Kavaliauskas,V. Karpus,Gintaras Valušis,Lianhe Li,Suraj P. Khanna,Suraj P. Khanna,Edmund H. Linfield +8 more
TL;DR: Photoreflectance (PR) and photoluminescence (PL) investigations of the electronic and polarization properties of different aspect ratio InGaAs quantum rods (QRs) embedded in In GaAs quantum wells (QWs) reveal that the polarization has a preferential direction along the [11¯0] crystal axis with a large optical anisotropy of about 60% in the (001) plane for high aspect ratio (4.1:1).
Indication of van Hove singularities in the density of states of ZnMg(Y,Ho) quasicrystals
A. Suchodolskis,Wolf Assmus,L. Giovanelli,Ulf O. Karlsson,V. Karpus,G. Le Lay,R. Sterzel,E. Uhrig +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a low-temperature synchrotron-radiation photoelectron microspectroscopy study of the valence bands of single-grain icosahedral quasicrystals was performed.

Dielectric function and refractive index of GaBix As1-x (x = 0.035, 0.052, 0.075)
TL;DR: In this paper, the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric function of GaBiAs indicate bandgap Eg and spin-orbit splitting Δ0+ values close to literature data.

Polarization dependent photoluminescence and optical anisotropy in CuPtB-ordered dilute GaAs1–xBix alloys
Tadas Paulauskas,Bronislovas Čechavičius,V. Karpus,Lukas Jočionis,Saulius Tumėnas,J. Devenson,Vaidas Pačebutas,Sandra Stanionytė,Viktorija Strazdienė,A. Geižutis,Mária Čaplovičová,Viliam Vretenár,Michael Walls,Arūnas Krotkus +13 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the optical anisotropy of GaAs-xBix semiconductor alloys has been investigated experimentally from the atomic scale in molecular-beam epitaxy (MBE) grown samples on exact and miscut (1) GaAs substrates, as well as on (001) Ge.
Modulated reflectance study of InAs quantum dot stacks embedded in GaAs/AlAs superlattice
R. Nedzinskas,Bronislovas Čechavičius,J. Kavaliauskas,V. Karpus,Dalius Seliuta,Vincas Tamošiūnas,Gintaras Valušis,Gernot Fasching,Karl Unterrainer,Gottfried Strasser +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, photo-and electroreflectance techniques were used to examine optical transitions in vertically stacked InAs quantum dot (QD) superlattice (SL) with and without AlAs barriers.
