TL;DR: The first moment of the spin structure function g 1 goes through a rapid transition from the photon point (Q 2 = 0), where it is constrained by the Gerasimov-Drell-Hearn sum rule, to the deep inelastic limit where it was sensitive to the nucleon spin fraction carried by quarks.

TL;DR: In this paper, the Bjorken integral was extracted from the Jefferson Lab experiment EG1b for $0.05l{Q}^{2}l 2.92 and was fit to extract the twist-4 element, which appears to be relatively large and negative.
