Evidence for electronic and ionic interaction between electron transport chains in chloroplasts
TL;DR: Electron transport, phosphorylation and the absorption changes of plastoquinone and chlorophyll-a1 have been measured as a function of 3(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,1-dimethylurea(DCMU) concentration and it is found that two types of cooperation are realized.

Solid Vesicle Membrane Made of meso-Tetrakis[(bixinylamino)-o-phenyl]porphyrins
Teruyuki Komatsu,Eishun Tsuchida,Christoph Böttcher,Dan Donner,Christian Messerschmidt,Ulrich Siggel,Wolfgang Stocker,and Jürgen P. Rabe,Jürgen-Hinrich Fuhrhop +8 more
TL;DR: Tetrakis(aminophenyl)porphyrin with four bixin side chains in statistical orientation with respect to the porphyrin plane and its zinc(II) complex produced stable colloidal solutions in water at pH 9.5 as discussed by the authors.

Nanowells on silica particles in water containing long-distance porphyrin heterodimers.
Guangtao Li,Sheshanath V Bhosale,Tianyu Wang,Steffen Hackbarth,Beate Roeder,Ulrich Siggel,Jürgen-Hinrich Fuhrhop +6 more
TL;DR: Form-stable 2-nm wells were obtained and were characterized by fluorescence quenching experiments using the bottom porphyrin as a target, and two different dyes have thus been immobilized at a defined subnanometer distance in an aqueous medium.

Micellar Fibers of Octopus Porphyrin. Photoinduced Electron Transfer Reactions in Aqueous Media
Teruyuki Komatsu,Kazuhiro Yamada,Eishun Tsuchida,Ulrich Siggel,Christoph Böttcher,Jürgen-Hinrich Fuhrhop +5 more
TL;DR: The octopus porphyrin fibers fluoresced strongly, and laser flash photolysis lead to electron transfer from the porphrin to hydrophobic phenyl-p-benzoquinone as well as to hyphilic 1,2-naphtoquinone-4-sulfonate and dimethylviologen acceptors as mentioned in this paper.
