PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system that enable makes a station side to inform a subscriber side about the timing information, to specify a period as to when the effect of crosstalk is to be received from an adjacent channel. SOLUTION: In a digital subscriber line (xDSL) transmission, a station side device informs a subscriber device about a training symbol stream 500, to which the timing information T1 to specify a period, when effects of crosstalks is received from an adjacent channel is included at training carried out prior to data communication. Furthermore, by making the phase of a training symbol 501 (A→B) change, the timing information T1 is inserted in the training symbol sequence.

The present invention relates to a high-speed digital transmission method using an analog subscriber line (for example, an existing telephone-use copper cable), a subscriber accommodating system used in the high-speed digital transmission method, an accommodating device on a subscriber-terminal side and an accommodating device on an accommodating station side. The present invention includes the steps of providing a subscriber distributing device, to which a plurality of subscribers are connected, on a subscriber-terminal side of an analog subscriber line in a high-speed digital transmission method using the analog subscriber line; setting a low-frequency band part as a control channel; setting a high-frequency band part as one or a plurality of communication channels; and controlling the one or plurality of communication channels by use of the control channel. The plurality of subscribers communicate by using the same analog subscriber line.

A low frequency band part is employed for a control channel and a high frequency band part is employed for one or more speech channel. The speech channel is controlled using the control channel, and the subscribers can communicate using the same subscriber's loop.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain a high transmission rate for data while using an existing twisted pair. SOLUTION: A MODEM operated selectively in a voice frequency band and at a higher frequency band than it is provided. The MODEM supports lots of channel codes such as the DMT and the CAP. This MODEM uses a digital signal processor(DSP) so as to execute a different existing ADSL channel code on a same hardware platform, e.g. a discrete multi-tone(DMT) and a non- carrier AM/PM (CAP). The MODEM decides a desired channel transmission rate in real time so as to be in matching with a channel state and a service cost condition.
