Surface enhanced Raman scattering of silver sensitized cobalt nanoparticles in metal–dielectric nanocomposites
Jérémie Margueritat,Jérémie Margueritat,José Gonzalo,Carmen N. Afonso,U. Hörmann,G. Van Tendeloo,Adnen Mlayah,Daniel B. Murray,Lucien Saviot,Y Zhou,Minghui Hong,Boris Luk'yanchuk +11 more
TL;DR: A new type of nanocomposite containing cobalt and silver nanoparticles organized in parallel layers with a well controlled separation allows the observation of an enhanced low-frequency Raman signal at the vibration frequency of cobalt nanoparticles excited through the surface plasmons ofsilver nanoparticles.

Measurement of the size of embedded metal clusters by mass spectrometry, transmission electron microscopy, and small-angle X-ray scattering
C. Hendrich,Luc Favre,D. N. Ievlev,A. N. Dobrynin,Wim Bras,U. Hörmann,E. Piscopiello,G. Van Tendeloo,Peter Lievens,Kristiaan Temst +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, an ensemble of nanometer-sized Au, Co, Er, and FePt clusters were generated by a laser vaporization source and embedded in a MgO matrix grown on a mica substrate.

Influence of finite size effects on exchange anisotropy in oxidized Co nanocluster assembled films
A. N. Dobrynin,D. N. Ievlev,Christian Hendrich,Kristiaan Temst,Peter Lievens,U. Hörmann,Jo Verbeeck,G. Van Tendeloo,André Vantomme +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, the magnetic properties of Co cluster assembled films with different degrees of oxidation were compared and the mean inducing temperatures for both samples were determined, which are 55 and $25\phantom{\rule{0.3em}{0ex}}\mathrm{k}$ respectively, for the more and less oxidized sample, respectively.
