Determination of reticulo-rumen and whole-stomach digestion in lactating cows by omasal canal or duodenal sampling
TL;DR: The results indicated that the omasal sampling technique provides a promising alternative to the duodenal sampling techniques to investigate forestomach digestion in dairy cows and offers an alternative means to study rumen N metabolism.
Estimation of microbial nitrogen in nylon-bag residues by feed 15N dilution.
Tuomo Varvikko,Jan Erik Lindberg +1 more
TL;DR: The disappearance of microbially corrected dry matter (DM; correction calculated from the 15N values) was, accordingly, always faster than the uncorrected DM disappearance, and feed, pore/sample size and incubation-time effects were always found for the disappearance values.
Lactation and Metabolic Responses to Graded Abomasal Doses of Methionine and Lysine in Cows Fed Grass Silage Diets
TL;DR: The data demonstrate that Met is important in the milk fat synthesis, and Lys isImportant in mammary gland AA metabolism, however, neither Met nor Lys is the first-limiting AA in the Milk protein yield of cows fed a grass silage and cereal diet.

Microbially corrected amino acid composition of rumen-undegraded feed protein and amino acid degradability in the rumen of feeds enclosed in nylon bags.
TL;DR: According to present findings, AA composition of the rumen-degraded vegetable feed residues may markedly differ, either quantitatively or qualitatively (or both), from their original AA composition.
