Esophageal anthracosis with tuberculous lymphadenitis confirmed on transesophageal endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration.
Noriko Nishiyama,Hirohito Mori,Hideki Kobara,Kazi Rafiq,Shintaro Fujihara,Kiyohito Katou,Yuichi Aritomo,Masahiro Ono,Hideki Kamada,Makoto Oryu,Nobuhiro Kanaji,Tsutomu Masaki +11 more
TL;DR: A case of esophageal anthracosis with tuberculous lymphadenitis that was diagnosed using transesophageals endoscopic ultrasound-guided fine-needle aspiration (EUS-FNA) alone and achieved an excellent outcome following the use of less invasive methods than mediastinoscopy.

Prognostic Value of Skeletal Muscle Loss in Patients with Hepatocellular Carcinoma Treated with Hepatic Arterial Infusion Chemotherapy
Kyoko Oura,Asahiro Morishita,Joji Tani,Takako Nomura,Takushi Manabe,Kei Takuma,Mai Nakahara,Tomoko Tadokoro,Koji Fujita,Shima Mimura,Takayuki Sanomura,Yoshihiro Nishiyama,Tsutomu Masaki +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated whether a low SMI was associated with worse clinical outcomes of hepatic arterial infusion chemotherapy (HAIC) and found that patients with a decreased SMI after treatment had worse nutritional status and liver function.

Identification of microRNA associated with the elimination of hepatitis C virus genotype 1b by direct-acting antiviral therapies.
Hirohito Yoneyama,Asahiro Morishita,Hisakazu Iwama,Koji Fujita,Takahiro Masaki,Joji Tani,Tomoko Tadokoro,Takako Nomura,Teppei Sakamoto,Kyoko Oura,Kei Takuma,Mai Nakahara,Shima Mimura,Akihiro Deguchi,Makoto Oryu,Kunihiko Tsutsui,Takashi Himoto,Kunitada Shimotohno,Takaji Wakita,Hideki Kobara,Tsutomu Masaki +20 more
TL;DR: Direct‐acting antiviral therapies have been proven to be highly effective for the eradication of hepatitis C virus without resistance‐associated substitutions (RASs), but even in cases with no detected RASs treatment sometimes fails, suggestive of the existence of some host‐related factors involved in HCV eradication by DAAs.
3
Antitumor Effects and Mechanisms of Metabolic Syndrome Medications on Hepatocellular Carcinoma
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors focus on the antitumor effects of metabolic syndrome medications on hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and their mechanisms based on recent literature, and the use of these medications may be a potential strategy against HCC.
3
Splenic arterial injury caused by use of a lumen-apposing metal stent for walled-off pancreatic necrosis drainage.
TL;DR: Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided drainage has been proposed as first-line treatment for WON and some studies have shown efficacy of the LAMS over the double pigtail plastic stent (PS), which is recognized as the conventional drainage option.
