H3N2 Mismatch of 2014–15 Northern Hemisphere Influenza Vaccines and Head-to-head Comparison between Human and Ferret Antisera derived Antigenic Maps
Hang Xie,Xiu-Feng Wan,Zhiping Ye,Ewan P. Plant,Yangqing Zhao,Yifei Xu,Xing Li,Courtney Finch,Nan Zhao,Toshiaki Kawano,Olga Zoueva,Meng-Jung Chiang,Xianghong Jing,Zhengshi Lin,Anding Zhang,Yanhong Zhu +15 more
TL;DR: Molecular modeling indicated that the mutations of epidemic H3 strains were mainly located in antibody-binding sites A and B as compared with TX/12e, and human serologic testing on vaccination-induced cross-reactivity need be emphasized along with virus antigenic characterization by ferret model.
Pregnancy level of estradiol attenuated virus-specific humoral immune response in H5N1-infected female mice despite inducing anti-inflammatory protection
Courtney Finch,Anding Zhang,Martina Kosikova,Toshiaki Kawano,Marcela F. Pasetti,Zhiping Ye,Jill Ascher,Hang Xie +7 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that estradiol levels equivalent to those found during pregnancy have divergent effects on female immunity against influenza, highlighting the importance of vaccination during pregnancy to prevent severe influenza infections.

TSLP activates the production of IFN-γ via CD8-positive T cells in recurrent tonsillitis
TL;DR: In this article , the role of thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) in chronic infection is not well understood, but the authors reported an increased number of cluster of differentiation 8 (CD8+T) cells and higher expression of TSLP in the tonsil tissues of patients with recurrent tonsillitis as compared to that in the patients with tonsil hypertrophy.
