An achievement of over 12 percent efficiency in an organic dye-sensitized solar cell
Kenji Kakiage,Yohei Aoyama,Toru Yano,Takahiro Otsuka,Toru Kyomen,Masafumi Unno,Minoru Hanaya +6 more
TL;DR: Dye-sensitized solar cells fabricated by using a novel metal-free alkoxysilyl carbazole as a sensitizing dye and a Co(3+/2+)-complex redox electrolyte exhibited light-to-electric energy conversion efficiencies of over 12% with open-circuit photovoltages higher than 1 V by applying a hierarchical multi-capping treatment to the photoanode.

Fabrication of a high-performance dye-sensitized solar cell with 12.8% conversion efficiency using organic silyl-anchor dyes
TL;DR: A high-performance DSSC with a light-to-electric energy conversion efficiency of 12.8% under one sun simulated solar irradiation is succeeded in fabricating.

Silicon–silicon π single bond
Soichiro Kyushin,Yoshikuni Kurosaki,Kyohei Otsuka,Haruna Imai,Shintaro Ishida,Toru Kyomen,Minoru Hanaya,Hideyuki Matsumoto +7 more
TL;DR: A room temperature-stable closed-shell bicyclic tetrasilane that features a Si-Si π single bond between two of the non-adjacent Si centers is described.
Silanol dyes for solar cells: higher efficiency and significant durability
TL;DR: Azobenzene-containing silanol dyes were synthesized and their applicability to dye-sensitized solar cells was investigated in this article, where they showed better effectiveness when compared with conventional carboxy-substituted azobenzenes dyes.

Polar Order in Quantum Paraelectric SrTiO3-16 and SrTiO3-18 at Low Temperature
TL;DR: In this paper, the long-range order of polar phase does not develop on the both crystals and is frozen in local regions, and the combined studies reveal that the SHG is sensitive to the local polar-order.
