Limitation of inductive power transfer for consumer applications
Eberhard Waffenschmidt,Toine Staring +1 more
- 06 Oct 2009
TL;DR: In this article, the authors derived the matching conditions for optimal power efficiency for inductive power transmission structures with varying distance and size ratios and investigated the achievable power efficiency of a given structure with respect to resonant matching and load impedance.

Cook over IP: Adapting TCP for Cordless Kitchen Appliances
Shruthi Kashyap,Vijay S. Rao,R. Venkatesha Prasad,Toine Staring +3 more
- 17 Apr 2018
TL;DR: This work proposes a method to determine optimal TCP retransmission timeout values, and a channel sensing mechanism to avoid packet drops, and identifies two major problems that occur when TCP/IP is tunneled over the time-slotted NFC channel, namely spurious retransmissions of the TCP packets and packet drops at the NFC interface.

Architectures for Internet Connectivity
Shruthi Kashyap,Vijay S. Rao,Ranga Rao Venkatesha Prasad,Toine Staring +3 more
- 01 Jan 2021
TL;DR: In this article, two possible architectures to connect the cordless kitchen appliances to the Internet are discussed, and the advantages and disadvantages of both these architectures are discussed in detail, respectively.
