Physicochemical properties and immunological activities of polysaccharides from both crude and wine-processed Polygonatum sibiricum.
Tingting Sun,Hong Zhang,Ye Li,Yang Liu,Wei Dai,Jie Fang,Cui Cao,Yun Die,Qian Liu,Chunliu Wang,Lintao Zhao,Guiping Gong,Zhongfu Wang,Linjuan Huang +13 more
TL;DR: It is found that PSPC and PSPW enhanced the immune functions of the immunosuppressive model for spleen deficient mice and reversed the decline of the secretions of IL-2, IL-6, TNF-α, and IFN-γ to a normal range.

Arabinogalactan derived from Lycium barbarum fruit inhibits cancer cell growth via cell cycle arrest and apoptosis.
Guiping Gong,Qian Liu,Yangni Deng,Tiantian Dang,Wei Dai,Tingting Liu,Yang Liu,Jing Sun,Langhong Wang,Yuxia Liu,Tingting Sun,Shuang Song,Zhongfu Wang,Linjuan Huang +13 more
TL;DR: LBGP-I-3 may be a potential functional food ingredient for the prevention of cancer without toxicity to normal cells in vitro and Investigation of the underlying mechanism suggested that LBGP- I-3 inhibited the growth of cancer cells by cell cycle arrest and apoptosis.

Preparation of chondroitin sulfates with different molecular weights from bovine nasal cartilage and their antioxidant activities
Zihua Zou,Ming Wei,Jie Fang,Wei Dai,Tingting Sun,Qian Liu,Guiping Gong,Yuxia Liu,Shuang Song,Fangli Ma,Langhong Wang,Linjuan Huang,Zhongfu Wang +12 more
TL;DR: The antioxidant activity of chondroitin sulfate in vitro is robustly associated with its molecular weight, and low-molecular-weight chond Detroit sulfate can be used as an antioxidant in the food and pharmaceutical industries and other sectors.

Preparation, structural characterization, and bioactivity of PHPD-IV-4 derived from Porphyra haitanensis
Guiping Gong,Tiantian Dang,Jie Fang,Yangni Deng,Qian Liu,Wei Dai,Jing Sun,Langhong Wang,Yuxia Liu,Tingting Sun,Shuang Song,Luodi Fan,Linjuan Huang,Zhongfu Wang +13 more
TL;DR: A theoretical basis for the utilisation and structure-activity assessment of P. haitanensis polysaccharides is provided and PHPD-IV-4 displayed the greatest biological activity by up-regulating the phosphorylation of MAPK signalling molecules.

Lectin PCL inhibits the Warburg effect of PC3 cells by combining with EGFR and inhibiting HK2.
TL;DR: It is reported that PCL could lower glucose consumption and lactate production, shift the Warburg effect by inhibiting the expression of HK2 in PC3 cells and the suppression ofHK2 by siRNA reversed the effect of PCL on glucose consumption.
