Tumour stage and resection margin status are independent survival factors following partial pancreatoduodenectomy for duodenal adenocarcinoma
Kulbir Mann,Timothy Gilbert,Silvia Cicconi,Richard J. Jackson,P. Whelan,Fiona Campbell,Christopher Halloran,John P. Neoptolemos,Paula Ghaneh +8 more
TL;DR: Whereas gastric outlet obstruction in duodenal cancer appeared to be an important survival factor following partial pancreatoduodenectomy, multivariate analysis showed that only tumour stage and resection margin status were the key independent survival factors.
Genomic profiling of idiopathic peri-hilar cholangiocarcinoma reveals new targets and mutational pathways
Leonard M. Quinn,Sam Haldenby,Anna Fowler,Katie Bullock,John Kenny,Timothy Gilbert,Timothy Andrews,Rafael Díaz-Nieto,Stephen W. Fenwick,Eithne Costello-Goldring,Graeme J. Poston,William Greenhalf,Daniel H. Palmer,Hassan Malik,Christopher E. Goldring +14 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a comprehensive genomic analysis of a U.K. idiopathic cholangiocarcinoma (pCCA) cohort was performed to characterize its mutational profile and identify new targets.
HPB O06 Developing a patient-derived model of cholangiocarcinoma using Precision Cut Tissue Slices (PCTS)
Timothy Gilbert,Laura E. Randle,Rafael Díaz-Nieto,Stephen W. Fenwick,Christopher E. Goldring,Hassan Malik +5 more
TL;DR: Precision-cut tissue slices (PCTS) are patient-derived whole tissue explants that can be cultured ex-vivo for drug discovery in cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) as discussed by the authors .

A propensity matched retrospective study on preoperative biliary drainage in patients with resectable perihilar cholangiocarcinoma: metal beats plastic stents?
D. D. de Jong,Lynn E. Nooijen,Timothy Gilbert,Eva-Maria Braunwarth,Marina Ninkovic,Florian Primavesi,Hassan Malik,Nick Stern,Richard Sturgess,Joris I. Erdmann,R. Voermans,M. Bruno,Bas Groot Koerkamp,Lydi M.J.W. van Driel +13 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors compared the efficacy of preoperative biliary drainage with self-expanding metal stents (SEMS) in relation to surgical outcome in resectable perihilar cholangiocarcinoma (pCCA) patients.
HPB P21 Surgery for peri-hilar cholangiocarcinoma: The Liverpool hepatobiliary unit experience
TL;DR: A retrospective review of a prospectively maintained database was performed on all patients who underwent resection for perihilar cholangiocarcinoma (pCCA) at a high-volume UK centre between 2009-2021 as discussed by the authors .
