Memory factors in age-related differences in simple reasoning.
TL;DR: This paper found that adults in their 20s and 50s do not differ in the effectiveness of integrating information across multiple premises, but the two groups differed in the accuracy of trials involving only a single relevant premise, and thus it was inferred that one factor contributing to reasoning differences within the age range from 20 to 60 may be a failure to encode, or retain, relevant information.
Converging evidence for information-processing stages: A comparative-influence stage-analysis method
TL;DR: A comparative-influence stage-analysis technique based on a combination of two earlier methods is proposed in this article, which provides converging evidence for the concept of stages of information processing and illustrates the translatability of accuracy and speed as measures of human performance.
