Independent effects of Alzheimer's disease on neuropsychological functioning.
TL;DR: In this article, a new analytical procedure, single common factor analysis, was carried out on the data from a relatively large sample of normals and patients with Alzheimer's disease (AD; n = 180) to examine the extent to which there were independent effects of disease status on different neuropsychological variables.

Within-context assessment of age differences in working memory.
TL;DR: The results are consistent with the view that increased age may be associated with a decreased ability to transform or abstract information while also preserving the products of earlier processing.

Age and the perception of incomplete figures
TL;DR: The results of the experiments indicated that older adults are unable to utilize stimulus information as effectively as younger adults in making perceptual inferences.

Does the Level at Which Cognitive Change Occurs Change With Age
TL;DR: The present study capitalized on the hierarchical structure of cognitive abilities to investigate possible age differences in the level at which change operates, using reductions in the longitudinal associations between test scores when across-time relations were specified at different levels in the hierarchy.

Efficiency of route selection as a function of adult age.
TL;DR: Two tasks hypothesized to assess the efficiency of route selection found that increased age was associated with slower completion of mazes, even after adjusting for differences in perceptual-motor speed, and with longer and less accurate routes in a task in which participants were asked to visit designated exhibits in a zoo.
