Do somatostatin-analogues have the same impact on postoperative morbidity and pancreatic fistula in patients after pancreaticoduodenectomy and distal pancreatectomy? - A systematic review with meta-analysis of randomized-controlled trials.
Stephan Schorn,Thomas Vogel,Ihsan Ekin Demir,E. Demir,O. Safak,Helmut Friess,Güralp O. Ceyhan +6 more
TL;DR: Somatostatin analogues did not affect POPF and clinically relevant POPF after PD, but seemed to be associated with less POPf after DP, as no sufficiently powered RCT could be identified by the systematic review.

Impact of the iron saturation of bovine lactoferrin on adsorption to a strong cation exchanger membrane
TL;DR: In this article, the impact of the state of iron binding on the adsorption of bLf to cation exchangers was investigated as affected by medium conditions, and it was found that the iron-depleted apo Lf has a lower affinity than iron-saturated holo lf in the acidic pH-range.

Enhanced Visualization: From Intraoperative Tissue Differentiation to Augmented Reality.
Dirk Wilhelm,Thomas Vogel,Daniel Ostler,Nils Marahrens,Nils Kohn,Sebastian Koller,Helmut Friess,Michael Kranzfelder +7 more
TL;DR: Many new visualization technologies are emerging with the aim to improve the authors' perception of the surgical field leading to less invasive, target-oriented, and elegant treatment forms that are of significant benefit to their patients.
Comprehensive system integration and networking in operating rooms
Hubertus Feußner,Daniel Ostler,Nils Kohn,Thomas Vogel,Dirk Wilhelm,Sebastian Koller,Michael Kranzfelder +6 more
TL;DR: In the framework of the internationally advanced OR.NET project, prototype solution approaches were realized, which make short-term and mid-term comprehensive data retrieval systems probable.
