Divergent prognostic effects of pre-existing and treatment-emergent thyroid dysfunction in patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors
Mitchell S. von Itzstein,Amrit S Gonugunta,Yiqing Wang,Thomas Sheffield,Rong Lu,Sadia Ali,Farjana J. Fattah,Donglu Xie,Jianfeng Cai,Yang Xie,David E. Gerber +10 more
TL;DR: In this article , the authors determined the association between thyroid function and overall survival using Kaplan-Meier curves, log-rank tests, and multivariate Cox proportional hazards model, and found that immunotherapy-induced thyroid dysfunction is associated with better survival, but preexisting thyroid abnormalities convey worse outcomes.
Association between Antibiotic Exposure and Systemic Immune Parameters in Cancer Patients Receiving Checkpoint Inhibitor Therapy
Mitchell S. von Itzstein,Amrit S Gonugunta,Thomas Sheffield,Jade Homsi,Jonathan E. Dowell,Andrew Y. Koh,Prithvi Raj,Farjana J. Fattah,Yiqing Wang,Vijay S. Basava,Shaheen Khan,Jason Y. Park,Vinita Popat,Jessica Saltarski,Yvonne Gloria-McCutchen,David Hsiehchen,Jared Ostmeyer,Yangyi Xie,Quan Zhen Li,Edward K. Wakeland,David E. Gerber +20 more
TL;DR: Antibiotic administration is associated with worse clinical outcomes and changes to the gut microbiome in cancer patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICI), and understanding the relationship between these factors may improve the clinical management of patients receiving ICI.
Correction to: Divergent prognostic effects of pre-existing and treatment-emergent thyroid dysfunction in patients treated with immune checkpoint inhibitors
Highly variable timing renders immunotherapy efficacy and toxicity impractical biomarkers of one another in clinical practice
Mitchell S. von Itzstein,Yuqiu Yang,Yiqing Wang,David Hsiehchen,Thomas Sheffield,Farjana J. Fattah,Vinita Popat,Murtaza Ahmed,Jade Homsi,Jonathan E. Dowell,Sawsan Rashdan,J. Lohrey,Hans J. Hammers,Randall S. Hughes,Tao Wang,Yang Xie,David E. Gerber +16 more
TL;DR: The temporal relationship between initial efficacy assessment and irAE onset in a diverse population treated with ICI was determined and patients demonstrating greater tumor shrinkage at initial efficacy assessment were more likely to develop future grade ≥2 and multi-organ irAE.
Spatial molecular profiling: platforms, applications and analysis tools.
Minzhe Zhang,Thomas Sheffield,Xiaowei Zhan,Qiwei Li,Donghan M. Yang,Yunguan Wang,Shidan Wang,Yang Xie,Tao Wang,Guanghua Xiao +9 more
TL;DR: This review aims to provide an overview of recent developments in spatial molecular profiling technologies and the corresponding computational methods developed for analyzing such data.
