Feed through pins are coupled to the electronic subassembly and extend out of the sealed chamber. Feed through interconnects are coupled to the electronic subassembly via the feed through pins. At least one tab is disposed on at least one feed through interconnect. The tab(s) are configured and arranged to flex away from the feed through interconnect and against a side of the feed through pin. A feed through interconnect assembly includes an assembly frame; feed through interconnects extending from the assembly frame; a first contact pad and a second contact pad disposed on at least one of the feed through interconnects; and a tab formed on a first contact pad of at least one of the feed through interconnects.

The substrate also interfaces with the conductors of two modular ports of the connector, and is removable from the housing such that an insert assembly of a different electronics or terminal configuration can be substituted therefor. In this fashion, the connector can be configured to a plurality of different standards (e.g., Gigabit Ethernet and 10/100). In yet another embodiment, the connector assembly comprises a plurality of light sources (e.g., LEDs) received within the housing. Methods for manufacturing the aforementioned embodiments are also disclosed.

In one embodiment, the connector comprises a single port modular jack, and incorporates an insert assembly disposed in the rear portion of the connector housing. Heat removal features are also utilized within the jack to effectively dissipate heat produced by the electronic or signal conditioning components. A micromagnetic device includes a first insulating layer formed above a substrate, a first seed layer formed above the first insulating layer, a first conductive winding layer selectively formed above the first seed layer, and a second insulating layer formed above the first conductive winding layer. The micromagnetic device also includes a first magnetic core layer formed above the second insulating layer, a third insulating layer formed above the first magnetic core layer, and a second magnetic core layer formed above the third insulating layer. The micromagnetic device still further includes a fourth insulating layer formed above the second magnetic core layer, a second seed layer formed above the fourth insulating layer, and a second conductive winding layer formed above the second seed layer and in vias to the first conductive winding layer. The first and second conductive winding layers form a winding for the micromagnetic device.

In one embodiment, the common-mode choke includes a core and a pair of windings. The first winding and the second winding are alternatingly wound around the core with each respective winding being flipped at least once over the traverse direction of the winding barrel of the core. In one variant, the number of flips is dependent upon the core geometry, number of windings, and/or the specification limits on electrical balance. In another variant, the windings are first twisted and/or braided prior to being wound onto the winding barrel of the core.

The ICM also contains one or more housing components, the one or more housing components comprising a plurality of ports that are arranged so as to be offset from a main signal conditioning portion of the one or more housing components; and an electronics assembly disposed within the one or more housing components. Methods and apparatus for utilizing and manufacturing the aforementioned ICM are also disclosed.
