Local infiltration analgesia versus interscalene nerve block for postoperative pain control after shoulder arthroplasty: a prospective, randomized, comparative noninferiority study involving 99 patients.
Julia Sicard,Shahnaz Klouche,Christel Conso,Nicolas Billot,Jean-Charles Aurégan,Samuel Poulain,Florent Lespagnol,N. Solignac,Thomas Bauer,Mathieu Ferrand,Philippe Hardy +10 more
TL;DR: Although no significant difference in the mean pain score was found between the 2 groups for the 48-hour postoperative period, the LIA group had significantly less severe pain and less opioid consumption in the recovery room and a negative but nonsignificant correlation was foundbetween postoperative pain and Constant score at the 1-month follow-up.

A threshold value of 3.5 mm of passive anterior tibial subluxation on MRI is highly specific for complete ACL tears.
Alexandre Hardy,Shahnaz Klouche,Pierre Szarzynski,Etienne Charpentier,Jean Sebastien Beranger,Thomas Bauer,Benoit Rousselin,Olivia Judet,Philippe Hardy +8 more
TL;DR: The calculated cutoff value for global passive subluxation to identify patients with a complete ACL tear was 3.5 mm, with excellent specificity and a high positive likelihood ratio, which could be partially due to failure to restore an anatomical femorotibial relationship.

Survival and functional results after a mean follow-up of 9 years with the Ceragyr® highly congruent mobile-bearing TKA.
TL;DR: After a minimum follow-up of 7years, the overall revision-free survival rate for the Ceragyr(®) was 94.8%; the survival was 98.4% with mechanical failure as an endpoint, and the results were stable over time.

Outpatient total ankle replacement
TL;DR: In this article, the authors adapted a protocol for outpatient total ankle replacement (TAR) and hypothesized that it could be performed safely as standard procedure, and twenty-five consecutive patients among 141 TAR were treated with their outpatient protocol relying on three fundamentals: bleed control, pain control, and autonomy.

Preoperative Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy Improves Postoperative Pain and Reduces Opioid Consumption After Total Knee Arthroplasty: A Prospective Comparative Study.
TL;DR: Standardized preoperative OMTh was found to be effective in reducing pain in the first month after TKA for osteoarthritis and significantly reduced opioid consumption during the first postoperative week.
