An increasednumber of coronaviruscasesinfection has resultedininstability of household, which has animpact on family quality of life(QoL), and the facts during Covid-19 pandemic are contrary to the structural-functional theory, which emphasizes system stability and balance. This study aims to analyze the effect of religiosity, economic pressure, stress levels, and family management on family QoLduring the Covid-19 pandemic and to analyze family typology based on stress levels, economic pressure, and family QoL. This study uses a quantitative approach and voluntary sampling method with 270 respondents selected based on criteria of working mothers or homemakers with working husbands. The higher frequency of religiosity and the smaller the economic pressure, the lower risk of high-stress levels.The high-stresslevelsand economic pressure decrease thefamilyQoL, but the QoL increase if the family can carry out good financial management. Increasing the frequency of religiosity would improve familyQoLby reducing stress levels. The typology is dominated by economic pressure and low QoL, while the typology of stress level and balanced QoLis dominated by the best type (low-stress levels, high QoL) and both low types. Reduced economic pressure, improved financial management, and stress management are important to preserve or improve QoL.

The influence of religiosity, economic pressure, financial management, and stress levels towards family quality of life during covid-19 pandemic in indonesia

Children away from their parents while pursuing higher education at universities face new challenges in managing their finances and preparing to be financially independent. This study analysed and compared the effects of parental financial socialisation and financial literacy on Indonesian and Malaysian university students' financial behaviour. In total, 204 students from the Faculty of Human Ecology at IPB University and Universiti Putra Malaysia participated in the study. Data were gathered using a self-reporting questionnaire using the convenience sampling method. The independent sample t-test and multiple regression analysis were performed on the data. The results of the t-test showed that Malaysian students scored significantly higher in parental financial socialisation and financial behaviour but lower in financial literacy than Indonesian students. Moreover, the regression analyses revealed that parental financial socialisation and students' financial literacy were highly significant in influencing the sampled students' financial behaviour. However, by splitting the sample based on the student's country of origin, this study demonstrated that Malaysian students' financial behaviour was only significantly influenced by parental financial socialisation, while Indonesian students' financial behaviour was only significantly determined by financial literacy. These findings implied that Malaysian parents were more involved in shaping their children's financial behaviour or decisions. In contrast, Indonesian students were more independent from their parents, and their financial literacy level predominantly influenced their financial behaviour.

The Influence of Parental Financial Socialisation and Financial Literacy on University Student's Financial Behaviour

BACKGROUND Female household heads are faced with more problems than men due to their multiple concurrent roles. The present study was conducted to determine the relationship of supportive roles with mental health and satisfaction with life in female household heads in Karaj, Iran using a structural equations model. METHODS The present descriptive-analytical study was conducted on 286 eligible female household heads in Karaj, Iran, in 2020, who were selected by convenience sampling. Data were collected using Vaux's Social Support, the perceived social support scale, the general health questionnaire (GHQ), and the satisfaction with life questionnaire plus a socio-demographic checklist, and were analyzed in SPSS-16 and Lisrel-8.8. RESULTS The participants' mean age was 43.1 ± 1.7 years. According to the path analysis results, satisfaction with life had the highest direct positive relationship with perceived social support (B = 0.33) and the highest indirect positive relationship with age (B = 0.13) and the highest direct and indirect positive relationship with education and social support (B = 0.13). Also, mental health had a direct negative relationship with satisfaction with life (B = -0.29), an indirect negative relationship with social support, and both a direct and indirect negative relationship with perceived support (B = -0.26). CONCLUSION Based on the results, supportive roles had a negative relationship with mental health; in other words, mental health problems increase as supportive roles decrease. They also had a positive relationship with satisfaction with life in female household heads. Accordingly, given the status and role of women in the health of family members and the community and their greater vulnerability, further attention and support should be directed toward these women by the government and relevant organizations like establishment of counseling-support centers.

The relationship of supportive roles with mental health and satisfaction with life in female household heads in Karaj, Iran: a structural equations model.

Abstract The cognitive human capital approach assumes that cognitive abilities (CA) enable societies to be innovative and competitive and to achieve higher productivity and prosperity. However, does happiness enhance the effect of CA on economic growth? Our study views happiness as an intrinsic motivator that helps workers be more productive and get the most out of their CA. Regression analyzes using two different measures for CA showed strong evidence that CA generated economic growth from 1960 to 2017, even though it interacted negatively with happiness. These results were found to be robust after controlling for endogeneity bias using instrumental variable for happiness. In addition, the threshold regression analyses revealed significant evidence that the relationships between CAs and growth vary according to happiness levels. Two prominent ranges of threshold were established: γ 1 = 4.75–4.96 and γ 2 = 6.16–6.43 on the 0 to 10 happiness scale. Accordingly, the effects of CA were smallest in very unhappy countries (happiness &lt; γ 1 ), strongest in fairly happy societies (happiness of γ 1 − γ 2 ), and moderately strong among the happiest countries (happiness ≥ γ 2 ). In summary, the pursuit of highest productivity growth seems to require an optimal level of happiness, where moderate level of happiness (likely indicative of existence of higher motivation with little emotional distress) could inspire and drive people to fully utilize their cognitive capital and achieve high economic growth.

Cognitive ability and economic growth: how much happiness is optimal?

Financial literacy is among the most significant components of daily life. Due to the current economic problems, the need and use for financial literacy and planning become more prevalent as one grows older. Children grow up in an infinitely uncertain world, where they are forced to take responsibility for their financial future. Since the financial intellect can be cultivated, increasing the proclivity of financial management and fostering money-related knowledge at a young age has a significant impact on promoting future financial behavior. This study was conducted in response to the need to broaden the current understanding of financial socialization among the young generation. This research aimed to ascertain whether a Smart Money Kit (SMK) can be utilized as an alternative financial education tool to increase preschoolers’ financial interest, management behavior, and prosocial levels. The sample of the research included 50 preschoolers from Selangor, Malaysia. They were randomized into an experimental or control group with 25 preschoolers. A one-way MANOVA was used. The findings of within-subject multivariate tests demonstrated statistically significant differences between the control and experimental groups. In addition, the results showed a significant effect on the experimental group’s level of interest score, a significant effect on the experimental group’s level of financial management behavior, and a statistically significant difference in the experimental group’s level of prosocial score. The study showed that SMK effectively improves children’s interests in financial education, management, and prosocial behavior.

The Effect of a Smart Money Kit on the Financial Interest, Financial Management Behavior, and Prosocial Level of Preschoolers

Female-headed households in Malaysia have been a financially vulnerable community in the society where their life satisfaction becomes a question. Therefore, this study aims to determine the factors affecting life satisfaction among female-headed households in Malaysia. A total of 527 respondents who are single, divorced, separated or widowed women, with children in the home including those on public assistance participated in this study which adapted a multi-stage sampling method using self-administered questionnaire. The results show that locus of control, religiosity, financial capability, and financial vulnerability have positive significant relationships with life satisfaction. The multiple regressions show that locus of control, religiosity, financial capability, and financial vulnerability are significant determinants of life satisfaction among female-headed household in Malaysia. More knowledge, and enhancement through financial workshops could be helpful to empower female-headed household on the use of modern financial instruments. Hence, able to increase financial capability and reduce financial vulnerability of female-headed households in Malaysia towards a better life satisfaction.

understanding financial-related awareness at a early age greatly affect encouraging future financial behavior. Hence, in this research the research group incorporated gamification and edutainment in to a tool called Smart Money Kit. The objective behind the inovation of Smart
Money Kit is as an alternative financial education tool for parents, teachers and other adults to assist in educating children in personal financial management. The results demonstrated that the Smart Money Kit to be helpful regarding the enhancement of financial knowledge by 59%,
positive financial attitudes by 21.9%, and better financial behaviour by 19.3% of the children. Therefore, the majority of the parents, teachers and caretakers agree that Smart Money Kit has guided their children to become financially prudent and 90% of them evidenced a huge difference in their children after being exposed to Smart Money Kit. Hence this kit has been proved to be an effective tool to educate children on financial literacy besides able to develop a positive financial attitudes and better financial behaviour among the children.
