Incorporation of modified Stöber silica nanoparticles in polystyrene/polyamide-6 blends: Coalescence inhibition and modification of the thermal degradation via controlled dispersion at the interface
Thibault Parpaite,Belkacem Otazaghine,Aurélie Taguet,Rodolphe Sonnier,A.S. Caro,J.M. Lopez-Cuesta +5 more
TL;DR: The controlled dispersion of Stober silica nanoparticles (SiNPs) at the interface of a PS/PA6 (80/20wt%) blend was achieved by means of surface modifications using 3-methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane (MPS) as discussed by the authors.

Biodegradable polyester thin films and coatings in the line of fire: the time of polyhydroxyalkanoate (PHA)?
Henri Vahabi,Henri Vahabi,Elaheh Rohani Rad,Thibault Parpaite,Valérie Langlois,Mohammad Reza Saeb,Mohammad Reza Saeb +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the current status and future of PHA-based flame retardant thin films and coatings are discussed and compared with polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) with more or less similar structure, but different physical properties due to their lower glass transition temperature compared with PLAs.
Phosphorization of exfoliated graphite for developing flame retardant ethylene vinyl acetate composites
Ghane Moradkhani,Mohammad Fasihi,Thibault Parpaite,Loic Brison,Fouad Laoutid,Henri Vahabi,Mohammad Reza Saeb +6 more
TL;DR: Ammonium polyphosphate (APP) was grafted onto the surface of exfoliated graphite nanoplatelet to obtain a novel flame retardant, GNP-g-APP, and thereafter was incorporated into the ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) to improve its flame retardancy.

Incorporation of elastomer into poly(ether ether ketone): an attempt to improve the damping factor
TL;DR: The incorporation of an elastomer phase into a poly(ether ether ketone) (PEEK) matrix was carried out using two different processing methods (melt blending (MB) and dry blending) to improve the damping factor (tan δ) of the composite with a minimal change in the PEEK stiffness as discussed by the authors.
Flame retardant PP/PA6 blends: A recipe for recycled wastes
Fouad Laoutid,Christelle Vagner,Marianne Cochez,Loic Brison,Franck Ducos,Reza Ganjali,Elaheh Rohani Rad,Thibault Parpaite,Valérie Langlois,Maryam Jouyandeh,Negar Rahmati,Elnaz Movahedifar,Behzad Shirkavand Hadavand,Zohre Karami,Mehdi Ghaffari,Peyman Taheri,Ehsan Bakhshandeh,Mohammad Reza Ganjali,Krzysztof Formela,Mohammad Reza Saeb,Henri Vahabi,Loïc Dumazert,Reza Khalili,Reza Saeb,José-Marie Lopez Cuesta +24 more
- 01 Jan 2019
TL;DR: In this paper, a flame retardant system was designed and intended to play the role of typical recycled flame-retardant polypropylene/polyamide (PP/PA6) blends by incorporation of two kinds of talc, sepiolite, and a phosphorus-based flame-resilient additive.
