Integrated Structural and Energy Retrofitting of Masonry Walls: Effect of In-Plane Damage on the Out-of-Plane Response
TL;DR: In this paper, a total of 12 experiments were carried out in order to evaluate the effect of prior in-plane damage on the out-of-plane response of structurally and thermally retrofitted masonry wallettes, simulating the behavior of upgraded masonry infills in reinforced concrete or steel frame structures under seismic loading.

Seismic upgrading of existing masonry structures: A state-of-the-art review
TL;DR: In this article , the authors present a review on the available seismic upgrading techniques of existing masonry structures, which comprise a very common structural material including most of the surviving historic structures worldwide.

Innovative Structural and Energy Retrofitting System for Masonry Walls Using Textile Reinforced Mortars Combined with Thermal Insulation: In-Plane Mechanical Behavior
TL;DR: In this paper, textile reinforced mortars (TRM) and thermal insulating materials are integrated in a new system for structural and energy retrofitting of masonry, including seismic and energy.

Computer-aided strengthening of masonry walls using fibre-reinforced polymer strips
TL;DR: In this paper, a strut-and-tie model is used to determine the locations where FRP strips should be placed in masonry walls subjected to in-plane loading, and the tensile forces in the ties can be used to calculate the required FRP cross section areas, hence the number of strips in each location.
