Synthesis and physical properties of azapolycyclic hydrocarbons. Part 1. Preparation of 1-azabenzanthrone and its condensation products and their structural determination
Satoshi Iwashima,Toyotoshi Ueda,Hitoshi Honda,Toshitsugu Tsujioka,Mitsuru Ohno,Junji Aoki,Teruo Kan +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the zinc-catalysed condensation product was separated into four isomers; 3,12-diazatetrabenzo[a,cd,j,lm]perylene (7), 3,15-dizabenzos[rst]phe-nanthro[1,10,9-cde]pentaphene (4), 5,17diazadibenzo [a, rst]naphtho[8,1,2-c de]pentahene (3), and 5,

Effect of overcrowding in mass spectra for six violanthrenes
TL;DR: The mass spectra of six highly purified violanthrene samples of class A, class B, and class T were measured as mentioned in this paper, and the dependence of relative ion instensities for monovalent, divalent and trivalent ions [M]i+, [M 2n]i+ and [M − 15]I+ (i = 1, 2, 3) showed clearly the effect of overcrowding in condensed aromatic rings.

Mechanism of ionization and initial fragmentation in electron impact mass spectra of 3-halogenobenzanthrones
Zeper Abliz,Toyotoshi Ueda,Kazuhiko Kubogata,Satoshi Iwashima,Minoru Takekawa,Junji Aoki,Teruo Kan +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the fundamental mechanisms of ionization and initial fragmentation were interpreted by the penetration length of an impacting electron or the density distribution on the molecular surface of a rejected electron and its orbital energy.

Structure determination by MS, NMR and UV spectra of bromo and nitro derivatives of 1-azabenzanthrone
Toyotoshi Ueda,Zeper Abliz,Munehiro Sato,Manabu Nishimura,Satoshi Iwashima,Junji Aoki,Teruo Kan,Shunyo Matsunaga,Reiko Tanaka +8 more
TL;DR: The position of the nitro group has also been confirmed by mass and UV spectra of 9-nitro-1-azabenzanthrone derivatives: two isomers of pyridino-1.

Electron impact mass spectra of polycyclic aromatic compounds with several types of pyridino- and benzobenzanthrone skeletons
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the electron impact mass spectra for five isomers of pyridinobenzanthrones and three isomer of benzanthrone skeleton and found that the competition of decompositions through [M − H]+, [M - CO]- or [M- HCN]- ions was confirmed by the observation of metastable ions and appearance energies of fragment ions.
