Proteomics: drug target discovery on an industrial scale
Terence E Ryan,Scott D Patterson +1 more
TL;DR: This review identifies the technical issues to be addressed for industrial-scale protein-based discovery in the identification of targets for therapeutic (or diagnostic) intervention and aims to direct discovery in a way that increases the probability of robust target identification, and decreases the likelihood of failure owing to variable expression in this emerging field.

Selective capture and enrichment of proteins expressed on the cell surface
Bruno Domon,Ian McCaffery,Terence E Ryan +2 more
- 19 Nov 2004
TL;DR: In this article, a method for enriching cell surface proteins by oxidizing glycosylated protein with periodate was proposed, which is capable of obtaining increased quantities of the cell-surface proteins, but also of obtaining a wide range of proteins that are not detectable by other means.
