A novel mycobacterial Hsp70-containing fusion protein targeting mesothelin augments antitumor immunity and prolongs survival in murine models of ovarian cancer and mesothelioma
Jianping Yuan,Satoshi Kashiwagi,Patrick Reeves,Jean Nezivar,Yuan Yang,Nadiah Hashim Arrifin,Mai Nguyen,Gilberte Jean-Mary,Xiaoyun Tong,Paramjit Uppal,Korochkina Svetlana E,Ben Forbes,Tao Chen,Elda Righi,Roderick T. Bronson,Huabiao Chen,Sandra Orsulic,Timothy Brauns,Pierre Leblanc,Nathalie Scholler,Glenn Dranoff,Glenn Dranoff,Jeffrey A. Gelfand,Mark C. Poznansky +23 more
TL;DR: Use of this bifunctional fusion protein in both mouse models significantly enhanced survival and slowed tumor growth while augmenting tumor-specific CD8+ T-cell dependent immune responses.
Long-term survival of transplanted allogeneic cells engineered to express a T cell chemorepellent.
Natalia Papeta,Tao Chen,Fabrizio Vianello,Lyle Gererty,Ashish Malik,Ying-Ting Mok,William G. Tharp,Jessamyn Bagley,Guiling Zhao,Liljana Stevceva,Victor Yoon,Megan Sykes,David H. Sachs,John Iacomini,Mark C. Poznansky +14 more
TL;DR: This is the first demonstration of a novel approach that exploits T-cell chemorepulsion to induce site specific immune isolation and thereby overcomes allograft rejection without the use of systemic immunosuppression.

X4 Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 gp120 Down-Modulates Expression and Immunogenicity of Codelivered Antigens
Avi-Hai Hovav,Michael Santosuosso,Maytal Bivas-Benita,Andre Plair,Alexander C Cheng,Mazal Elnekave,Elda Righi,Tao Chen,Satoshi Kashiwagi,Michael W. Panas,Shi Hua Xiang,Karina Furmanov,Norman L. Letvin,Mark C. Poznansky +13 more
TL;DR: It is found that the presence of HIV-1 gp120 leads to a significant reduction in the expression level of the codelivered antigen in vivo, which results in the induction of weak antigen-specific cellular and humoral immune responses.

Eluting matrix and uses thereof
Mark C. Poznansky,Tao Chen +1 more
- 09 May 2017
TL;DR: In this article, CXCL12 polypeptide eluting matrices encapsulating at least one cell are described for use in the treatment of autoimmune disorders, and they are shown to be effective in some cases.

Near-infrared laser adjuvant for influenza vaccine.
Satoshi Kashiwagi,Jianping Yuan,Benjamin Forbes,Mathew L. Hibert,Eugene L. Q. Lee,Laura Whicher,Calum Goudie,Yuan Yang,Tao Chen,Beth Edelblute,Brian Collette,Laurel Edington,James T. Trussler,Jean Nezivar,Pierre Leblanc,Roderick T. Bronson,Kosuke Tsukada,Makoto Suematsu,Jeffrey S. Dover,Timothy Brauns,Jeffrey A. Gelfand,Mark C. Poznansky +21 more
TL;DR: It is shown that non-tissue damaging, near-infrared (NIR) laser light given in short exposures to small areas of skin, without the use of additional chemical or biological agents, significantly increases immune responses to intradermal influenza vaccination without augmenting IgE.
