Social Media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) have revolutionized the communication strategies of public institutions in recent years, and communication strategies have understood the different principles on which these new media have been built, compared to traditional means of communication. Beyond the huge openness of these social environments, Social Meda is encouraging users to participate in the in the government process and created a new mechanism through which institution becomes a person, and institutional communication becomes interpersonal communication. This was speculated by many candidates who have won such a high online reputation that their voice can be stronger than the voice of an institution. This study focused on analyzing the Social Media communication strategy of Donald Trump, from 1 July 2018 to 1 July 2019. Thus, we have analyzed the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that facilitate Social Media communication, we have identified and analyzed the messages that generate high engagement from users as well as the dominant reactions generated by the online audience.

Donald Trump's Social Media Communication or the voice of a man is stronger than the voice of an institution

This article establishes the presence of ethnic, racial and linguistic based hate content on politically oriented Facebook pages and as well explores prominent themes within these hate discourses to understand the promotion and propagation of ethnic, racial and linguistic based hate, intolerance and radicalization. A total of 94 Facebook post were purposefully collected and thematically analyzed with the help of NVIVO 12. The major theme revealed that ethnic diversification was framed as curse and threat for social harmony and development of the society. In online political discourses, specific ethnic, racial and linguistic groups were framed as “others” and “responsible” for destruction of social, cultural and political spheres of society. In these online discourses, specific groups were stereotyped and discriminated in much negative, disgusted hateful manner through directly demonizing with abusive language and derogatory remarks and dehumanized through comparing with specific animals like dogs, pigs etc. Different ethnic groups were discriminated and stereotyped on the basis of “Us vs Them” such as Baloch’s were framed as Invaders, while Afghans were framed as criminals, burdon, inferior and parasites on the Pakistani economy. Punjabi’s were framed as dominant in every sphere such as politics, economy and have biased towards specific minor ethnic, racial, linguistic and regional groups.

Exploring Ethnic Discrimination and Hate Speech in Online Political Discourses: A Comprehensive Analysis from the Pakistani Context

Electronic means of communication such as social media are becoming increasingly important to the way people organize themselves, interact with each other and reach collective decisions. The concept of democracy inevitably lags behind the pace of technological advances because of the imperfect flexibility of the regulations governing it that are currently in force. However, Iceland paves the way for an evolution of the democratic status quo, through its implementation of crowdsourcing in the process of adopting a new Constitution. This paper sets out to establish links between the Icelandic and Romanian models of democracy. It will then provide a preliminary SWOT economic analysis applied to a potential decision of the Romanian authorities to duplicate the Icelandic experience.

In this paper, we aim at gaining insight into the Romanian president’s online campaign during the 2014 elections. Although there is a growing body of literature on online political campaigns in Western democracies, little research exists on using Social Media in an emergent economy like Romania. In order to take a closer look at the president’s online communication strategy, we conducted a content analysis on the posts published on the president’s official Facebook page over the two weeks leading up to Election Day. This study is the first of this kind and it indicates that president Iohannis used close-ended messages to control the speech, while reaching out to emotion to gain users’ support.

The study aims to examine the extent to which parliamentary parties from Romania are using Social Media to promote their image and political messages, but also the level of participation of supporters in social networks. Another objective of this paper aims to identify similarities between the hypothetical percentages of supporters of political parties in Social Media, electoral percentages of accessing the Romanian Parliament and the current political configuration of the Romanian Parliament. The research is focused on comparative analysis of the \"de facto\" representation of the parliamentary parties in the Romanian community and the degree of representation in social networks. Through this study we have tried to show that there are similarities between the degree of support for parties in the real world, relative to the virtual environment.
