Reproductive biology of Cosmasterias lurida (Echinodermata: Asteroidea) an anthropogenically influenced substratum from Golfo Nuevo, Northern Patagonia (Argentina)
Catalina T. Pastor-de-Ward,Tamara Rubilar,María E. Díaz-de-Vivar,Ximena González-Pisani,Erica Zarate,Marina A. Kroeck,Enrique Morsan +6 more
TL;DR: The starfish Cosmasterias lurida was sampled from the pier piles of Almirante Storni in the Golfo Nuevo, northern Patagonia from November 2001 to November 2003, and biochemical analyses of the starfish indicated no transfer of nutrients between pyloric caeca and gonads in either sex.

Does Echinoderm research deserve an ethical consideration
TL;DR: In this article, a new insight does not demand facts to demonstrate that living beings should be considered ethically, since ethics should be first than epistemology (facts), and a relationship based on empathy should be established.
Lipid and fatty acid profiles of gametes and spawned gonads of Arbacia dufresnii (Echinodermata: Echinoidea): sexual differences in the lipids of nutritive phagocytes
M. Enriqueta Díaz de Vivar,Erica Zarate,Tamara Rubilar,Lucía Epherra,Marisa Gladys Avaro,Mary A. Sewell +5 more
TL;DR: An unexplored biochemical complexity in the lipids and fatty acids of the NP within sea urchin gonads that has implications for future research is revealed.
