Coenzyme Q10 restores oocyte mitochondrial function and fertility during reproductive aging
Assaf Ben-Meir,Eliezer Burstein,Aluet Borrego‐Alvarez,Jasmine Chong,Ellen Wong,Ellen Wong,Tetyana Yavorska,Tetyana Yavorska,Taline Naranian,Taline Naranian,Maggie M.-Y. Chi,Ying Wang,Yaakov Bentov,Jennifer Alexis,James Meriano,Hoon Ki Sung,David L. Gasser,Kelle H. Moley,Siegfried Hekimi,Robert F. Casper,Andrea Jurisicova,Andrea Jurisicova +21 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that impaired mitochondrial performance created by suboptimal CoQ10 availability can drive age‐associated oocyte deficits causing infertility.
NLRP5 Mediates Mitochondrial Function in Mouse Oocytes and Embryos
Roxanne Fernandes,Chiharu Tsuda,Alagammal Perumalsamy,Taline Naranian,Taline Naranian,Jasmine Chong,Beth M. Acton,Beth M. Acton,Zhi-Bin Tong,Lawrence M. Nelson,Andrea Jurisicova,Andrea Jurisicova +11 more
TL;DR: It is concluded that lack of Nlrp5 in oocytes triggers premature activation of the mitochondrial pool, causing mitochondrial damage that cannot be rescued by inactivation of Bax.

Kangaroo Care in the high-technology neonatal unit: Exploring evidence-based practice, policy recommendations and education priorities in Northern Ireland
TL;DR: Investigating the extent of KC practice in Northern Ireland neonatal units using a survey to explore nursing knowledge, barriers and perceptions concerning KC found the single greatest barrier to implementation appears to be uncertainty about the appropriateness of the intervention for a particular baby.

Enhancing Self-Management of Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy Tubes Through the Implementation of a Standardized Education and Assessment Pathway
TL;DR: In this paper , a standardized education and assessment pathway was developed and implemented in an urban academic outpatient clinic to enhance patient self-management and reduce stoma-site complications in patients with advanced Parkinson's disease when oral therapy no longer provides sufficient benefit.

Impact of young age on outcomes of emergency department procedural sedation.
M. Schlegelmilch,Mark G. Roback,Maala Bhatt,David W. Johnson,Ken J Farion,Samina Ali,Suzanne Beno,Andrew Dixon,C. McTimoney,G. Travassos,Candice McGahern,Zach Cantor,Eleanor Fitzpatrick,Nadia Dow,Taline Naranian,Gabrielle Allard +15 more
TL;DR: Young age, specifically between 13 and 24 months, was not associated with a significant difference in the incidence of adverse events and major outcomes examined were: serious adverse events, significant interventions, oxygen desaturation and vomiting.
