TL;DR: Sulcus deepening trochleoplasty corrects patellofemoral stability even in patients with severe dysplasia and the long-term functional outcome is better in this group, and it does not prevent patell ofemoral osteoarthritis.

TL;DR: This study suggests that metal-backing UKA revision exposes the patient to more severe tibial bone loss requiring more substantial reconstruction, which warrants having available a revision knee prothesis.
