Efficient sum-frequency generation of continuous-wave single-frequency coherent light at 252 nm with dual wavelength enhancement
TL;DR: The output performance of the deep-ultraviolet light source is sufficient for use in the laser cooling of neutral silicon atoms.

- 10 Nov 2002
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors performed optogalvanic spectroscopy of silicon atoms with a deep ultraviolet coherent light source, and observed spectral lines around 252nm, where the spectral lines correspond to the wavelength of the silicon atoms.

Performance characteristics of external cavities to generate deep-ultraviolet coherent lights resonant to 3p3P1−4s3P0 cyclic transition of 28Si
TL;DR: Asakawa et al. as mentioned in this paper developed a robust 252-nm singlemode coherent continuous-wave light source through two-stage highly efficient frequency conversion systems using external cavities, which achieved the second harmonics (SH) power of 630-mW from the LBO-installed external cavity by frequency doubling of a 746-nm Ti: sapphire laser with an efficiency of almost 50%.

- 03 Oct 2022
TL;DR: In this paper , a continuous refractive beamforming surface for far-field with a freeform surface and non-one-to-one ray mapping is proposed, where the major tasks in each optimization step are updating the ray emission angles and surface reconstruction.
