Overview on R&D and design activities for the ITER core charge exchange spectroscopy diagnostic system
Wolfgang Biel,T. Baross,P. Bourauel,D. Dunai,M. Durkut,Gábor Erdei,N. C. Hawkes,M. v.Hellermann,A. Hogenbirk,Rje Roger Jaspers,G. Kiss,F. Klinkhamer,J.F. Koning,Vladislav Kotov,Yury Krasikov,A. Krimmer,O. Lischtschenko,Andrey Litnovsky,O. Marchuk,Olaf Neubauer,G. Offermanns,Anatoly Panin,K. Patel,Gergö Pokol,Michael Schrader,B. Snijders,V. Szabó,N. C. J. van der Valk,R. Voinchet,J. Wolters,S. Zoletnik +30 more
TL;DR: The ITER core charge exchange recombination spectroscopy (core CXRS) diagnostic system as discussed by the authors is designed to provide experimental access to various measurement quantities in the core plasma such as ion densities, temperatures and velocities.

Development of design options for the port plug components of the ITER core CXRS diagnostic
Yu. Krasikov,T. Baross,Wolfgang Biel,Andrey Litnovsky,N. C. Hawkes,G. Kiss,J.F.F. Klinkhamer,J.F. Koning,A. Krimmer,Olaf Neubauer,Anatoly Panin +10 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present component concepts developed for the ITER core charge exchange recombination spectroscopy (cCXRS) based on the reference design option, which includes an outer shell, carrying a blanket shield module and a shielding cassette.

Conceptual design of the ITER upper port plug for charge exchange diagnostic
S. Sadakov,T. Baross,Wolfgang Biel,V. Borsuk,N. C. Hawkes,M. von Hellermann,P. Gille,G. Kiss,J.F. Koning,M. Knaup,F. Klinkhamer,Yu. Krasikov,Andrey Litnovsky,Olaf Neubauer,Anatoly Panin +14 more
- 01 Jun 2009
TL;DR: In this paper, a fast shutter has been proposed to enhance the M1 protection and three-point attachment scheme of blanket shield modules (BSMs) has been suggested to react electromagnetic loads caused by eddy-and halo-currents.

Status of the R&D activities to the design of an ITER core CXRS diagnostic system
Philippe Mertens,David Antonio Castaño Bardawil,T. Baross,Wolfgang Biel,Sebastian Friese,N. C. Hawkes,Roger Jaspers,Vladislav Kotov,Yury Krasikov,A. Krimmer,Andrey Litnovsky,O. Marchuk,Olaf Neubauer,G. Offermanns,Anatoly Panin,Gergö Pokol,Michael Schrader,U. Samm +17 more
- 01 Oct 2015
TL;DR: The CXRS (charge-eXchange Recombination Spectroscopy) diagnostic for the core plasma of ITER will be designed to provide observation of the dedicated diagnostic beam (DNB) over a wide radial range, roughly from a normalised radius r/a = 07 to close to the plasma axis as discussed by the authors.
First Measurements with the re-installed accelerated Lithium beam diagnostics on TEXTOR
Daniel Dunai,G. Petravich,J. Sárközi,S. Zoletnik,B. Schweer,T. Baross,I. G. Kiss,B. Meszaros +7 more
- 01 Jan 2008
TL;DR: The TEXTOR Li-beam diagnostic was upgraded with the following main components: newly designed high throughput optics with in-vessel elements, two parallel observation systems containing a scientific CCD camera and a 16 channel Avalanche Photodiode (APD) fast camera unit, fast deflection system, data acquisition system and control unit of the diagnostic as mentioned in this paper.
