Combined Fourier transform infrared and Raman spectroscopic approach for identification of multidrug resistance phenotype in cancer cell lines.
C. Murali Krishna,Gregory Kegelaer,Isabelle Adt,Sylvain Rubin,V. B. Kartha,Michel Manfait,Ganesh D. Sockalingum +6 more
TL;DR: The results indicate the prospective applicability of FTIR and micro‐Raman approaches in the differentiation of cell types as well as characterization of the cell status, such as the MDR phenotype exhibited in resistant leukemia cell lines like HL60 and MCF7.

FTIR protein secondary structure analysis of human ascending aortic tissues.
F. Bonnier,Sylvain Rubin,Laurent Debelle,Lydie Venteo,Michel Pluot,Bernard Baehrel,Michel Manfait,Ganesh D. Sockalingum +7 more
TL;DR: An in‐vitro study on 6 patients suggests that such a spectroscopic marker, specific to aneurismal tissue characterization, could be important information for surgeons who face the dilemma of moderate aortic tissue dilatation of the ascending aortas.

How to perform a haemodialysis using the arterial and venous lines of an extracorporeal life support.
TL;DR: All ECLS circuits are modified as described here, at implantation time, allowing rapid haemodialysis initiations, and 21 patients have been treated, without supplemental mortality or related complication since 2004.

Characterisation of uterine sarcoma cell lines exhibiting MDR phenotype by vibrational spectroscopy
C. Murali Krishna,Gregory Kegelaer,Isabelle Adt,Sylvain Rubin,V. B. Kartha,Michel Manfait,Ganesh D. Sockalingum +6 more
TL;DR: A combined vibrational spectroscopic approach, using both micro-Raman and FTIR techniques, in order to characterise a sensitive human uterine sarcoma cell line MES-SA and its multidrug-resistant derivative Garf indicates that both Raman and IR methods can provide a good differentiation of cell phenotypes.

Retrograde aortic dissection after a stent graft repair of a type B dissection: how to improve the endovascular technique
TL;DR: In this paper, an endovascular repair of thoracic dissections is a reality, associated with acceptable morbidity and mortality, but the inferior part of the false lumen remained patent due to a second abdominal entry tear.
