Rare earth elements and neodymium isotopes in world river sediments revisited
Germain Bayon,Germain Bayon,Samuel Toucanne,Charlotte Skonieczny,Luc André,Sylvain Bermell,Sandrine Cheron,Bernard Dennielou,Joel Etoubleau,Nicolas Freslon,Nicolas Freslon,T. Gauchery,Yoan Germain,Stephan J. Jorry,Guillemette Ménot,Laurence Monin,Emmanuel Ponzevera,Marie-Laure Rouget,Marie-Laure Rouget,Kazuyo Tachikawa,Jean-Alix Barrat +20 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors report on elemental concentrations and neodymium (Nd) isotopic compositions for a large number of sediments collected near the mouth of rivers worldwide, including some of the world's major rivers.

Intensifying Weathering and Land Use in Iron Age Central Africa
Germain Bayon,Bernard Dennielou,Joel Etoubleau,Emmanuel Ponzevera,Samuel Toucanne,Sylvain Bermell +5 more
TL;DR: It is shown that chemical weathering in Central Africa, reconstructed from geochemical analyses of a marine sediment core, intensified abruptly at the same period, departing substantially from the long-term weathering fluctuations related to the Late Quaternary climate.
Rare earth elements and neodymium isotopes in sedimentary organic matter
Nicolas Freslon,Nicolas Freslon,Germain Bayon,Samuel Toucanne,Sylvain Bermell,Claire Bollinger,Claire Bollinger,Sandrine Cheron,Joel Etoubleau,Yoan Germain,Alexis Khripounoff,Emmanuel Ponzevera,Marie Laure Rouget,Marie Laure Rouget +13 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report rare earth element (REE) and neodymium (Nd) isotope data for the organic fraction of sediments collected from various depositional environments, i.e., rivers, estuaries, coastal seas and open-ocean settings.

Environmental Hf-Nd isotopic decoupling in World river clays
Germain Bayon,Germain Bayon,Charlotte Skonieczny,Camille Delvigne,Samuel Toucanne,Sylvain Bermell,Emmanuel Ponzevera,Luc André +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed size-fraction of sediment samples collected near the mouth of 53 rivers worldwide to better understand the factors controlling the distribution of Hf and Nd isotopes in sediments.

Structure of the Demerara passive-transform margin and associated sedimentary processes. Initial results from the IGUANES cruise
Lies Loncke,Agnès Maillard,Christophe Basile,R. Roest,Germain Bayon,Virginie Gaullier,F. Pattier,M. Mercier de Lépinay,Céline Grall,Laurence Droz,Tania Marsset,Pierre Giresse,C. Caprais,Cecile Cathalot,David Graindorge,Arnauld Heuret,F. Lebrun,Sylvain Bermell,Boris Marcaillou,C. Sotin,Bertil Hebert,Martin Patriat,Maria-Angela Bassetti,Cédric Tallobre,Roselyne Buscail,X. Durrieu de Madron,François Bourrin +26 more
TL;DR: The IGUANES cruise on the R/V L'Atalante along the Demerara passive transform margin off French Guiana and Surinam as discussed by the authors highlights the lateral variability of the 350 km-long Guiana-Surinam transform margin due to the presence of a releasing bend between two transform segments.
