Status and characteristics of ambient PM2.5 pollution in global megacities
Zhen Cheng,Lina Luo,Shuxiao Wang,Yungang Wang,Sumit Sharma,Hikari Shimadera,Xiaoliang Wang,Michael Bressi,Regina Maura de Miranda,Jingkun Jiang,Wei Zhou,Oscar A. Fajardo,Naiqiang Yan,Jiming Hao +13 more
TL;DR: The results showed that the five most polluted megacities were Delhi, Cairo, Xi'an, Tianjin and Chengdu, all of which had an annual average concentration of PM2.5 greater than 89μg/m(3), while the five cleanest megac cities were Miami, Toronto, New York, Madrid and Philadelphia.

Mechanochemical feedback control of dynamin independent endocytosis modulates membrane tension in adherent cells
Joseph Jose Thottacherry,Anita Joanna Kosmalska,Amit Kumar,Amit Singh Vishen,Alberto Elosegui-Artola,Susav Pradhan,Sumit Sharma,Parvinder Pal Singh,Marta C. Guadamillas,Natasha Chaudhary,Natasha Chaudhary,Ram A. Vishwakarma,Xavier Trepat,Xavier Trepat,Miguel A. del Pozo,Robert G. Parton,Madan Rao,Pramod A. Pullarkat,Pere Roca-Cusachs,Satyajit Mayor,Satyajit Mayor +20 more
TL;DR: Authors show that a specific dynamin-independent endocytic pathway is modulated by changes in tension via the mechano-transducer vinculin, potentially leading to homeostatic regulation of membrane tension in adherent cells.
Air quality forecasting using artificial neural networks with real time dynamic error correction in highly polluted regions
Shivang Agarwal,Sumit Sharma,R. Suresh,H. Rahman,Stijn Vranckx,Bino Maiheu,Lisa Blyth,Stijn Janssen,Prashant Gargava,V. K. Shukla,Sakshi Batra +10 more
TL;DR: A model using Artificial Neural Networks has been developed to forecast pollutant concentration of PM10, PM2.5, NO2, and O3 for the current day and subsequent 4 days in a highly polluted region and shows very good performance for all the pollutants on several evaluation metrics.

“Traffic intervention” policy fails to mitigate air pollution in megacity Delhi
Sourangsu Chowdhury,Sagnik Dey,Sachchida Nand Tripathi,Gufran Beig,Amit Kumar Mishra,Sumit Sharma +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors examined the impact of traffic intervention on ambient particulate matter (PM 2.5 ) through a combination of in-situ, satellite, and model data.

Sensitivity analysis of ground level ozone in India using WRF-CMAQ models
TL;DR: In this article, the effect of different precursor species and sources on prevailing ozone concentrations in India has been analyzed using a WRSF-CMAQ model, and the results show that NOx sensitive conditions prevail in India and control of NOx will result in more reduction in ozone than VOCs.
