This article has examined the impact of unemployment, population density and amount of remittances, industrialization on crime rate among the districts of Punjab, Pakistan. The data has been composed from Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the Multiple Indicator Cluster survey (MICS), Punjab Development Statistics (2018). The Johansen cointegration method has been applied for examining the relationship among variables. The results show that unemployment and population density have a positive impact on crime rate among the districts of Punjab, Pakistan. The outcomes reveal that the amount of remittances, industrialization and social infrastructure have a negative and significant impact on crime rate among the districts of Punjab. This study recommends that for reduction in crimes, the government of Punjab should control unemployment and population density and the same time enhance industrialization, social infrastructure with the amount of remittances. On the basis of previous literature and our findings, it has been concluded that unemployment is the mother of crime.

Unemployment Rate, Population Density and Crime Rate in Punjab (Pakistan): An Empirical Analysis

This study analyses the interrelationship of unemployment rate, interest rate and inflation rate in Pakistan over the period from 1974 to 2013. Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model has been employed to find co-integration among variables of the models. Vector Error-Correction model is utilized for analysing short run dynamics of the models. The results do not provide significance trade-off between unemployment rate and inflation rate. Trade off exists in interest rate analysis over short run with inflation rate and unemployment rate. The empirical results show population growth and exchange rate have negative whereas external debt plays a positive role in determining unemployment rate in Pakistan. Money supply is revealed as major cause of inflation while exchange rate and imports have contributed negatively in inflation. The rate of interest has positive impact on domestic credit to private sector whereas it is negatively related to exchange rate.

Trade-off between Inflation, Interest and Unemployment Rate of Pakistan: Revisited

The main purpose of this study is to empirically test the moderating role of team climate between servant leadership, employee ambidexterity and work performance. Data were collected from 180 teachers working in different schools in Punjab, Pakistan. The sample was drawn using the convenience sampling technique. The direct and indirect hypotheses were tested using two-step Partial Least Square (PLS) path modelling. SEM has been used to analyze data. The findings of the research study designated the effect of servant leadership on work performance as essential. The results further revealed that in the relationship between servant leadership and work performance, team climate operates as a moderator, and this framework was mediated by employee ambidexterity. The work performance of teachers can be improved when the servant leaders encourage teachers to adopt ambidextrous activities by being exploration and exploitation according to the situation to meet challenges and overcome constraints. The study will act as a policy guide for Punjab School administration in areas such as employee performance enhancement through servant leadership style and employee ambidexterity, as well as team climate. The results of this study show that the impacts are tremendous and beneficial for the educational institutes of Pakistan.
