Control of avian influenza in China: Strategies and lessons.
Shuo Liu,Qingye Zhuang,Suchun Wang,Wenming Jiang,Jihui Jin,Cheng Peng,Guangyu Hou,Jinping Li,Jian-Min Yu,Xiaohui Yu,Hualei Liu,Shufang Sun,Liping Yuan,Jiming Chen +13 more
TL;DR: The lessons to be learned from the control experience in China are summarized, including whether culling of infected birds is of limited value for disease control and whether improved biosecurity is a better option than culling and vaccination for the long-term control of AIV, and when the vaccine strain should be updated.

Identification of a potential novel type of influenza virus in Bovine in China.
Wenming Jiang,Suchun Wang,Cheng Peng,Jian-Min Yu,Qingye Zhuang,Guangyu Hou,Shuo Liu,Jinping Li,Jiming Chen +8 more
TL;DR: A pilot survey of bovine influenza virus in China was conducted, and three bovines were identified which are highly homogenous to the ones identified in the USA, suggesting that the bovin influenza virus likely circulates widely and evolves slowly in the world.

Chinese and Global Distribution of H9 Subtype Avian Influenza Viruses
Wenming Jiang,Shuo Liu,Guangyu Hou,Jinping Li,Qingye Zhuang,Suchun Wang,Peng Zhang,Jiming Chen +7 more
TL;DR: A detailed and updated panoramic view of the epidemiological distributions of H9 subtype AIVs globally and in China is provided, and novel experimental data indicated that the Leu-234 (H9 numbering) motif in the viral hemagglutinin gene is an important but not unique determinant in receptor-binding preference.
Diversity and distribution of type A influenza viruses: an updated panorama analysis based on protein sequences
Qingye Zhuang,Suchun Wang,Shuo Liu,Guangyu Hou,Jinping Li,Wenming Jiang,Kaicheng Wang,Cheng Peng,Dong Liu,Aizhen Guo,Jiming Chen +10 more
TL;DR: The panorama views of phylogenetic diversity and distribution of I AVs and their nomenclature system were updated and assumed to be of significance for studies and communication of IAVs.
Genome sequence characterization of canine parvoviruses prevalent in the Sichuan province of China.
Qingye Zhuang,Yuan Qiu,Zihao Pan,Suchun Wang,Bo Wang,Wan‐kun Wu,Jian-Min Yu,Ying Yi,Fu‐Liang Sun,Kaicheng Wang +9 more
TL;DR: Phylogenetic analysis of global VP2 and NS1 nucleotide sequences revealed certain correlations among geographical regions, types and circulating time, which lays the foundation for further research concerning the epidemiology, genetic variation, vaccination and molecular evolutionary relationships of the CPV-2 identified at different times and from different regions.
