Predictive biomarkers to ramucirumab in Asian metastatic gastric cancer patients: Circulating angiogenic factors of VEGFR2 and neurophilin as predictive to ramucirumab efficacy in Asain recurrent/metatatic gastric cancer patients.
Seungtaek Lim,Sun Young Rha,Tae Soo Kim,Hyo Song Kim,Seung Hoon Beom,Hyun Cheol Chung,Minkyu Jung,Hyeong Ju Kwon,Jee Hung Kim,Su Jin Heo +9 more
TL;DR: An exploratory study to identify potential biomarkers to predict therapeutic effect of ramucirumab in combination with paclitaxel as a second line treatment for recurrent/metastatic Korean gastric cancer patients concludes that circulating biomarkers (VEGF, sVEGFR2, HGF, neuropillin-1, IL-8, and PIGF) are of interest.

Survivin is a mechanosensitive cell cycle regulator in vascular smooth muscle cells
John C. Biber,Andra Sullivan,Joseph Brazzo,Amanda Krajnik,Yun Heo,Kerry E. Poppenberg,Vincent M. Tutino,Su Jin Heo,John Kolega,Kwonmoo Lee,Yongho Bae +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors found that survivin, a member of the inhibitor of apoptosis protein family, mediates stiffness-sensitive cell cycling and proliferation in vivo and in vitro as determined by gene network and pathway analyses.
Portal Vein Thrombosis in Minimal Change Disease
TL;DR: PVT is rare and may not be easily diagnosed in patients with nephrotic syndrome suffering from abdominal pain and prompt immunosuppression and anticoagulation therapy are encouraged to avoid a fatal outcome.
