A method and device for use in delivering or withdrawing fluid to or from the vascular system of bone marrow, wherein a tubular conduit is inserted into bone and fluid is delivered or withdrawn to or from a reservoir through a seal means surrounding a head attached to one end of the conduit in communication with bone marrow at the opposite end of the conduit. Access to bone marrow is achieved by implanting an improved intramedullary catheter of the present device within a bone and creating a reusable passage via a conduit placed between bone marrow and the outer surface of bone or skin.

The current invention provides a device for holding dental abutments such as healing caps, healing screws, contoured healing abutments, PME (precision margin esthetics) abutments, PME impression pins, hexed transfer assemblies, straight and angled fixed system components, hexed coping screws or any dental implant parts when the object is being inserted or otherwise located into a patient's mouth. The device is tweezer-like and is designed to hold a dental abutment having a central axis. The device includes a pair of substantially identical members that are joined together at one of the ends and each have a free end. The members are disposed in the V-like configuration with the joined ends interconnected and the free end spaced apart so that when the members are squeezed towards one another, the free ends are brought into contact. Each of the members has a handle portion including the joined end, and an offset gripping portion. The gripping portion of each member has a junction segment which is joined to the handle portion and forms an interior angle in the range of 70-110 degrees with the handle portion. The gripping portion also has a grip segment with a first end joined to the junction segment and a second end configured to grip the dental abutment through cooperative action with the second end of the grip segment of the other member. When gripped, the dental abutment is retained at angle in the range of 60-90 degrees to the handle portion.

Device for holding an abutment

This dental clamp is for gripping a cylindrical abutment that is (i) mounted on an endosseus-type fixture that is implanted into a host jawbone and (ii) is located with its superior end tending to be flush with or beneath the exposed surface of gum tissue closely surrounding the abutment. The clamp comprises a pair of arms crossing each other in scissors fashion and a pivot joining the arms so that the portions of the arms on one side of the pivot constitute handles and the portions on the other side of the pivot constitute working portions. The working portions have free ends and confronting faces near the free ends that are movable together in response to the handles being moved together. Projecting laterally from the working portions are two flanges that bound a space of generally cylindrical form when the confronting faces are close together. Each of these flanges is shaped so as to be insertable between the abutment and the surrounding gum tissue. The flanges are adapted to grip the abutment therebetween in response to the handles being urged together when the flanges have been inserted between the abutment and the surrounding gum tissue.

The record base for a multiple, implant-supported, fixed prosthesis may be attached to the implants by screws. The screw attachment provides a stable record base for recording maxillo-mandibular relationships. Extraoral adjustment of the occlusion rim requires that it be unscrewed to allow removal from the mouth. The rim must be reattached with screws for the next intraoral evaluation. Although this cycle of removal and replacement provides stability, retention, and accuracy, it is time-consuming and inefficient. To resolve this problem, a two-piece record base/occlusion rim can be used. The screw-retained record base remains intraoral for the duration of the clinical appointment. The occlusion rim is designed to fit over the record base, with retention and stability, without screw retention. Use of the two-piece record base/occlusion rim facilitates convenient removal, adjustment, and replacement of the occlusion rim.
