Steric and Electronic Influence on Photochromic Switching of N,C‐Chelate Four‐Coordinate Organoboron Compounds
TL;DR: The results of this study showed that the bulky mesityl group is necessary for photochromic switching, and it was found that the non-ppy-based N,C-chelate ligands such as benzo[b]thiophenepyridyl can also promote photoisomerization of the boron chromophore in the same manner as the ppy chelate, but the product is thermally unstable.

Enantioselective Ketone Hydroacylation Using Noyori’s Transfer Hydrogenation Catalyst
Stephen K. Murphy,Vy M. Dong +1 more
TL;DR: An enantioselective ketone hydroacylation enables the direct preparation of lactones from keto alcohols, obviating the need to prepare sensitive keto aldehyde substrates.

β-hydroxy ketones prepared by regioselective hydroacylation
TL;DR: In this paper, an intermolecular hydroacylation of allylic alcohols with salicylaldehydes was reported to afford β-hydroxy aryl ketones in 73-94% yields as single regioisomers.

Catalytic Hydroacylation as an Approach to Homoaldol Products
TL;DR: A method has been developed for the intermolecular hydroacylation of homoallyl alcohols with salicylaldehydes to furnish homoaldol products in 50-98% yields and highlights the use of hydroacylated as a unified approach to both aldol and homo Maldol products.
