Diclosed herein are nucleic acid sequences that encode G-coupled protein-receptor related polypeptides. Also disclosed are polypeptides encoded by these nucleic acid sequences, and antibodies, which immunospecifically-bind to the polypeptide, as well as derivatives, variants mutants, or fragments of the aforementioned polypeptide, polynucleotide, or antibody. The invention further disclodes therapeutic, diagnostic and research methods for diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disorders involving any one of these novel human nucleic acids and proteins.

A method for odorizing natural gas in the pipeline utilizes bypass piping in conjunction with a liquid odorant storage tank. The bypass line causes a precisely known volume of bypass gas, saturated with odorant, to enter the gas line at regular intervals determined by gas flow through the line. Natural gas, having a known pressure higher than the pipeline pressure, is provided to the bypass line, and controlled by a control valve. The flow characteristics of the control valve are known in advance, so that opening the valve for a known time period allows a known quantity of bypass gas to flow through the valve. A controller monitors the gas line, and each time a pre-determined quantity of gas flows through the line, the control valve is opened for the calculated time. The bypass line is connected from the control valve to the odorant tank, and from the odorant tank to the gas line. When the control valve is opened, a known amount of saturated bypass gas flows from the odorant tank into the main line, which causes odorization of gas in the line. Preferably, the controller can compensate for temperature changes within the odorant tank. Further, the controller can preferably be controlled and monitored remotely.

System and method for odorizing natural gas

A means of accurately measuring farm chemical during its application, through the use of load cell and a means of mounting this load cell to a sprayer apparatus is disclosed. The measurement of the chemical is accomplished by the use of a load cell which is mounted in a position below a keg of liquid farm chemical. The load cell measures the weight of the chemical keg and the liquid chemical contained therein. By knowing the specific gravity of the chemical being used and the weight of the keg itself, the operator can accurately compute the volume of chemical which has passed through the sprayer system and the rate of that passage. This gives the operator an accurate measure of the amount of the liquid chemical applied to each acre of crop land.

A system, and a method, for reorganizing an execution schedule. According to the invention, the recovery time of a storage device where a failure occurs is determined. Then, according to the recovery time, a schedule is produced for the operations that use the storage device where the failure occurred, and for the operations that do not use the storage device.

A fluid delivery system for delivering a metered dose of fluid from a supply tank ( 28 ) to a downstream chamber or vessel ( 10 ), comprises a pump apparatus ( 20 ) comprising a pump plunger ( 32 ) which is operable to perform a pumping stroke under the control of an electromagnetic actuator ( 36 ), including a solenoid ( 36 a ), to effect delivery of the fluid and a control unit ( 24 ) for supplying an input signal ( 58 ) to the solenoid ( 36 a ) to initiate a current flow to the solenoid ( 36 a ) and thereby initiate movement of the pump plunger ( 32 ). An electronic device ( 54 ) provides an output signal to indicate that movement of the pump plunger has stopped at the end of the pumping stroke, and a timer determines a time difference between the input signal ( 58 ) being supplied to the solenoid ( 36 a ) and the output signal being output by the electronic device ( 54 ). A processor ( 26 ) compares the time difference with a predetermined time difference and determines, as a result of the comparison, whether or not the pump plunger ( 32 ) has performed a valid pumping stroke in which an intended volume of fluid is displaced.

A system for injecting chemicals, e.g., odorants, from a chemical supply into a conduit or container includes three primary components, a pump for injecting the odorant, a metering device, and a programmable controller. The controller is preferably powered by a solar panel to facilitate use of the system in remote areas for long periods of time. A removable data carrier, such as a memory module, is connected to the controller to collect odorant system event data. The data carrier is removable from the controller and the data therein may be downloaded into an auxiliary audit computer for generation of summary audit reports. The system precisely monitors how much odorant is used per pump stroke and insures that the odorant injection rate remains constant irrespective of environmental or equipment variations which might otherwise cause inaccuracies in the measurement of odorant usage data and/or the fluctuation of the odorant injection rate.
