Museum fatigue: a critical review.
TL;DR: The literature on museum fatigue is critically reviewed in this paper in terms of empirical studies, phenomena associated with fatigue, outcome measures used, and possible causes of the phenomena, concluding that at least two phenomena (object competition and information overload) appear to have little to do with fatigue other than share the pattern of decreased attention.
