Fluorescent 1,8-naphthalimides-containing polymers as plastic scintillators. An attempt for neutron-gamma discrimination
TL;DR: In this article, the relevance of different 4substituted 1,8-naphthalimides as fluorophores, either dispersed in a polymer matrix or copolymerized with styrene or methyl methacrylate to prepare new scintillating materials was investigated.

MA-NRBC: First successful attempt for neutron gamma discrimination in plastic scintillators
Stéphane Normand,Vladimir Kondrasovs,Gwenolé Corre,Jean-Michel Bourbotte,A. Ferragut +4 more
- 06 Jun 2011
TL;DR: It is shown during this study that it is possible to discriminate neutron from gamma in plastic scintillators even for low energy neutrons (less than 10 MeV) and the thermal stabilization algorithm in the FPGA and microcontroller is implemented to obtain a global system free from any trouble caused by the environment thermal variations.

Plastic scintillator materials, plastic scintillators comprising such materials and method for distinguishing neutrons from gamma rays using said scintillators
Matthieu Hamel,Pauline Blanc,Stéphane Normand,Chrystele Dehe-Pittance +3 more
- 06 Mar 2014
TL;DR: In this paper, a method for distinguishing between a signal caused by fast neutrons, optionally a signal causing by thermal neutrons and a signal generated by gamma rays in radiation was proposed.

1,8-naphthalimide derivatives as scintillation agents, in particular for discriminating between fast neutrons and gamma rays
Matthieu Hamel,Stéphane Normand,Vesna Simic +2 more
- 27 Jan 2009
TL;DR: In this paper, the use of 1,8-naphthalimide derivatives and their salts as scintillation agents and more specifically as agents for discriminating between fast neutrons and gamma rays was discussed.

PING for nuclear measurements: First results
Stéphane Normand,Vladimir Kondrasovs,Gwenolé Corre,K. Boudergui,N. Blanc de Lanaute,Jean-Michel Bourbotte,Romuald Woo,Patrick Pin,L. Tondut +8 more
- 06 Jun 2011
TL;DR: A new generation of acquisition systems for nuclear instrumentation based on a full digital signal processing free from any analog signal neither formatting nor processing, well suited for neutron measurements.
