Collapse suppression by a positive index profile
Stefan Skupin,Ulf Peschel,Falk Lederer +2 more
- 22 Jun 2003
TL;DR: In this paper, a focusing index profile is proposed to suppress self-focusing in transparent optical materials, which is the main obstacle for increasing the throughput of transparent optical optical materials.
Supercontinuum generation of femtosecond filaments at different laser wavelengths in air
Luc Bergé,Stefan Skupin +1 more
- 17 Jun 2007
TL;DR: In this article, numerically supercontinuum generation for the three laser wavelengths of 248 nm, 800 nm and 1550 nm was analyzed on the basis of different nonlinear Schrodinger-like equations for the electric field envelope involving or not space-time focusing and self-steepening operators.
Rogue waves in the beam profiles of multifilaments
Simon Birkholz,Carsten Brée,Ayhan Demircan,E. T. J. Nibbering,Stefan Skupin,Goëry Genty,Günter Steinmeyer +6 more
- 12 May 2013
TL;DR: In this article, a second optical system that clearly features rogue waves, namely the spatial fluence distribution in multifilament beam profiles, was discussed, and it was shown that mechanical turbulence inside the filament cell appears to act as the trigger mechanism.
THz and far-infrared radiation from ionizing multi-color pulses
E. Cabrera-Granado,Yxing Chen,Christian Koehler,Ihar Babushkin,Luc Bergé,Stefan Skupin +5 more
- 01 Jan 2014
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyzed the terahertz (THz) emission in gases via ionizing multi-color femtosecond pulses in 1D and 2D geometries and found that the emission in backward direction has a much smaller spectral bandwidth than in forward direction.
Stable rotating dipole solitons in nonlocal media
Servando Lopez-Aguayo,Stefan Skupin,Anton S. Desyatnikov,Ole Bang,Wieslaw Krolikowski,Yuri S. Kivshar +5 more
- 21 May 2006
TL;DR: In this paper, the first stable rotating two-soliton bound states in nonlinear optical media with non-local response were presented, and it was shown that in contrast to media with local response, nonlocality opens possibilities to generate stable azimuthons.
